This course was on target for today's work environment. She gave a lot of alternatives and diplomatic options on how to manage time; whether face-to-face or otherwise. I was not able to achieve completion due to the bonus course in which it was not available for me to complete. I was required to pay for the bonus course which I realized was part of the training; this was not made apparent to me at the beginning of the course. Therefore, I feel as though I have wasted my time because I am unable to obtain my certificate.

I liked the ideas in this course, and I am planning on using most of them right away. I especially liked the part that multitasking in not productive, to worker and managers. I work for the Child Abuse Hotline, and I been told that I should or could be doing the mandated hours of training, while waiting for calls or writing important child abuse reports that may not require an immediate response but require full focus of attention. We are; however, being punished when our stats (calls to hours worked) are at the bottom of the curve, by not being allowed to Telework for a whole month or two if we can't figure out how to multi-task. If I just work on my training, I will finish my training faster, will completed my mandated training hours faster, and not lose my privileged to telework. So I feel less guilty, that I told my supervisor, I cannot multi-task in this matter, as I wish to learn and also keep my privilege of working from home, and of course focus on assessing information to keep children safe. Please have this be a mandatory training for supervisors/managers. I also liked the part about not macro-managing. What more due managers want. They already have us sign-in to work with our phones, expect us to answer emails when not talking to someone on the phone, they can receive a print out to the second of our conversations, when calls start and end, including lunch breaks, and breaks. Then can also hear recorded conversations, and request a log to account for all of our tasks and times, in addition to a completed document of the outcome of every call, or report of abuse or neglect. In addition, they expect for us to take more calls, if we are not working an in-home immediate response report for child in immediate danger. In addition, at the end of our shift, we are told that we can not place a call back in queue, so that someone, working can complete assessment, because we have to get supervisor approval. While this is almost impossible since supervisor are busy, and it is rare that they would answer their phones, not even to approve OT. Oh and I almost forgot, we cannot work OT unless we have prior approval from our supervisor, duty supervisor, or managers, who do not answer their emails, or phones immediately because my supervisor and duty supervisors are usually busy answering overflow calls coming in. The only solution, I see works best, is that I need to work for free, if I want the "privilege" of working from home. Or they can hire OT on stand-by during period of anticipated high volume of calls.

In today's open office, many of these strategies won't work. And frequent mention of a landline makes me think the course is outdated.

A lot of time was wasted stating the obvious. This entire class could have taken 1/2 the amount of time. A resource at the end showing all the suggestions would be helpful.

It was informative. In a few of the sections, the presenter (voice) volume was lower than in other sections. Some of the sections did not 'check mark' as completed when finished. I had to go back and click on the section several times to get credit. Very annoying.

The suggestions were great, made perfect sense, and were high level enough to apply most places. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because there are some videos (especially toward the end) that feel like disjoint thoughts and could have been better organized into the overall course.

Completed course but still shows in progress. Inconsistent volumes made difficult to listen to. There was some good tips and reminders that I will implement in my work day.

I personally find that the course takes a bit too long to get to the tips, and takes a bit too much time explaining what interruptions are.
