Until first two Videos, it's great. Only the last part, the Animation Override Controller is little confusing me. I wish this had been explained a little bit more. But so far, so good.

An extremely straight forward, well taught, well thought out game building course. There are some rather glaring HOLES that I would have liked filled, but overall good. Wouldn't necessarily recommend for your very first Unity course, but definitely for a beginner who has a decent grasp of Unity, its interface and has a little C# under their belt though I can see an enthusiastic beginner getting thru the course without issue. From beginning to end, each bite size lecture builds on a section of the game, stitching it all together nearly perfectly until you have the same complete game that you saw in the Intro video -- which, by the way, gets HIGH MARKS from me simply because many Udemy trainers/teachers do not offer a "finished game preview" so you never know what the game actually looks like before buying. Overall a very good beginning experience in building your first or 21st game in Unity! What I didn't like: Lectures which dealt with InkScape ... okay, cool to learn a new free product and show its simplicity & usefulness, but, pretty please, GIVE US THE 2 SPRITES you created!!! (Maybe I'm overly annoyed but I would have rather had the sprites and been able to skip over Inkscape.) My biggest issue – SOUND - where's the sounds FXs? The music? A little sound in the main menu, background music while playing, sound FXs while whacking the moles ... this would have turned my rating from good to GREAT! Because that would have been a COMPLETE GAME! And though it wasn't part of the core curriculum, the very last BONUS video is garbage. I realize a student asked about it but why would you ever want such functionality? There were excellent thoughts around WHAT TO ADD NEXT TO THE GAME. We added a TIME MOLE, why not correctly finish it by adding time to the clock?!? The thought around COMBOs was very exciting, and I figured part of the bonus content (since it ran nearly 30 minutes) but this too wasn’t added. Again, as Udemy courses go for Unity beginner's courses, you can't go wrong with this. I've purchased other courses by Octo Man and this having been the first, I greatly look forward to the others and additional courses Octo Man may release in the future.
