Yes. I did comedy in a church setting some years ago, but am coming back in a more traditional setting. This course is a good reminder, as well as providing new, useful information.

It's backwards. Why discuss booking a gig before you discuss how to write a joke. As a teacher, I would recommend rearranging the lessons. Also, It seems like the teacher doesnt really know much more than I have already googled. Isn't this supposed to be a seasoned comic?

The instructors delivery isn’t that funny but as an intellectual course on understanding the fundamentals of comedy (stand up in particular) it does a rather decent job.

Not very far in quite yet - but I'm excited to keep going. So far this is identical to anything I'd find on YouTube - it's good but it's kind of just what I'd been expecting. But so far, the "best" part of this, is that it's all in a good, collected ordering. But because it's started so well, I'm excited to keep going and to find out what makes it worth-being-bought.

I was going to give this only 3 stars, but went with 4 because the course is a good introduction to the business end of stand up comedy. It points you in the right direction to learning the mechanics of getting onstage, doing open mics, moving up to bigger, better (and paid!) gigs, marketing and networking, etc. I just feel it glossed over the CRAFT of stand up, especially writing material and honing your chops. But again, a decent intro for those who are absolute beginners, as promised.

I've been on stage plenty, but never for stand up comedy before taking this course. Phillipe is a great instructor and really delivers an essential message: Just try it! This is a comprehensive intro course, covering message, delivery, timing, and even information on the industry in general. It made me feel a lot more comfortable and prepared for getting out there and giving stand-up a try!
