Ultimate Beginners Cartooning Course : Basic Characters

Absolutely, I learned a lot and it is original and fresh for me, really worthwhile for a beginner like me.

Amazing course! The tutor explains everything very clearly, it is easy to follow along. My drawing skill boosted a lot after this course. And I really enjoyed that there were excercises from time to time to practice what you've learnt, which are not boring! The only part that was too basic, in my opinion, is Coloring. All the rest was full of insights and useful techniques, but I learned nothing new from the colouring part. So, summarising, amazing course worth trying! The tutor is very clear in explanations and engaging!

The artist could try just a little better, I know this is cartooning, but he could try to draw the characters more... cartoony, but that's my only complaint, he's done really well.

So far at least, I feel like I will be able to learn new skills and techniques to improve my drawing skills, which is currently my main goal

Great course - Rich really knows his stuff! I recommend this for anyone starting out in cartooning or illustrating.

I like this course and I especially like the teachers style. Not afraid of showing and explaining his own errors as so many other teachers do. So fare (25%) I'm pleased, but there are two aspects that annoy me: 1.) There is a constant humming sound in the background that drives me absolutely crazy. Like an A/C or something that is recorded 2.) The teacher states in the beginning that you don't have to use any software and that you can follow the course also with paper and pen. But I feel like this isn't true. Because for example when the teacher changes something on a face, e.g. the eyebrows, he just erases it with his graphic tablet's pen. But I as someone who works with paper and pen can't erase my faces 10 times like the does. I have to draw another head to keep following along and have to pause the video. I don't, the teacher just seems to forget that there might be some people without graphics tablet watching the course. It just would be nice if he would draw a new face everytime he wants to show something. Doing everything on the same face just isn't practible for me as a "traditional" artist. That's the reason why I only give 4 stars, because this annoys me quite a bit. But apart from that: great course!

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow! The instructor makes it so effortlessly to follow the steps and fun to learn to draw. Plus what a nice voice the instructor has; it really helps to focus.

This is the fourth course I have taken from this instructor-I started taking his courses in 2019. I love his step by step process and ease of explanation. I was an absolute beginner, with little to no drawing experience, and my art instruction ended in junior high. Fast forward a few decades and wanting to learn the art (more like the skill) of drawing, I now call myself an artist, thanks to Rich. If you want to learn how to draw I highly recommend his courses. I love comics so after the beginner courses I thought this would be a fun course, and it was. The key to learning anything is motivation and practice. He gives you the instruction, but you have to put the work in. It does pay off. I am ready for another course.

Rich is engaging and supportive to budding artists. He offers gracious encouragement through out the little steps along the way!

I am exited to continue, and I am happy to be learning to know the steps what you need to do when you are drawing.

Rich's approach is perfect for me as a true beginner. I like how he says to make mistakes and not get stressed out or worry about being perfect (to have fun). This approach is exactly what I need.

This is a pretty good course. It will get you started on cartooning and beyond. The instructor goes in a lot of details. My only complaint is that he is using digital coloring which is fine but that is not my objective. Very good course to go back and learn things and to consult.

Very well explained course, tutor exceptionally talented and always gives feedback on drawings submitted.
