Why take this course?

Geovia Surpac is one the most used software in the mining industry, it allows mining engineers and geologist to perform alot of tasks in different levels in the life of a mine. With this powerful mining package geologists can create geological databases and model ore bodies using explicit modelling method the ore body solid is used later to constraint a block model and do ressource estimation. Surpac is also a CAD tool that offers some advanced features for mine design ( open pit and underground). This course will cover the basics of modelling in surpac , we will start with creating a geological database and the cover how to create solid ore body using the explicit method. An introduction to block modelling in surpac is also included and this section will be updated soon with more videos that covers the ressource estimation process. Upon the request of students more lectures will be added to this course based on their need , i m also planning on adding a full mine design section to this course to make it the only surpac course you will need to get started with the software. This course if for geologists, mining engineers, geoscientists or anyone who wants to learn a new mining package.

The course cover basic topics related to resource estimation, which is I am into it. Hopefully the course can be updated and cover some cases to deal with different lithological condition and different ore (as well as waste) grade so we can delineate the economics part of ore body. And sure hopefully we can get ore volume and tonnage estimation from the model we build through course.

This course was very good and very on point. I think if this class share about how can we get an open source geological data to practice, it will be the perfect class to learn both Surpac and Geological Modelling at once.

the course is very informative. It shows the difference between explicit geological models and implicit ones. I understood that SURPAC of Geovia is limited to Explicit geological modelling.

This course is a nice introductory course to Surpac. A slight problem is that Surpac is not available for free or even as a demo. But only by watching it, it is possible to learn all the basics.

This was an excellent course. The presenter demonstrated an excellent understanding of concepts and seamlessly exposed participants to practical use of the software for geological databases and modelling and resource estimation. There was flow and proper transition in his presentation and this course is recommended to those who may wish to gain an understanding of resource estimation. I'm looking forward to other courses by him. Good luck guys
