Extremely well structured, not too long or too short classes, very efficient and clear explanations, excellent starting point for those who start with confused ideas about producing music with (digital) synthesizers. Course highly recommended.

I've learned a couple of things, but there could have been more teaching in the second section. Using presets makes this a little more difficult for me. Also, it would be nice to show some experimentation.

Very clear. It is so important to know the basic waveforms. I am very much enjoying this course. Also important to explain the richness you achieve by using unison.

Amazing course which covers a lot to get you going with synthetisers. Prior knowledge of the basics is helpful before doing this course in order to really understand everything. I recommend it to someone who knows the foundation but doesnt fully understand how to carve out sounds properly yet. This would be too much for someone who has no idea about synthetisers. Mikael explains everything really well and covers a lot of interest stuff. I found Section 2 extremely useful since he shows how to create specific sounds from scratch.

Excellent mixture of visual and sound examples. Very clear, concise and easy to follow information delivered in a conversational tone. Am very happy with the presenters style and use of sound and visuals. The format of lecture followed by audio and visual examples continues to be an excellent method of reinforcing the lecture concepts. Audio and visual examples continue t/be top notch.

I am not a complete beginner to synths, but I have learned a lot from this course. Mike is a good trainer as usual, he explains everything properly and beginner-friendly. I have wishlisted several courses from his works and he is simply very good at what he does :)

Hi, I really liked the course for teaching me the basics of how synthesis works, but for me, it all fell down when going through the example sounds. The instructor uses Omnisphere to craft the tutorial sounds, which is a real pain for those of use who are using synthesizers without such comprehensive per-layer options. Very few synths allow for having an amp envelope per oscillator, and the example waveforms were not all easy for a beginner to match in another synth. I would recommend completely re-recording this section using a more universal subtractive synthesis model. Even with my Access VIrus TI, which has variable waveforms and wavetables, it was not simple to get close to the individual waveform sounds. Likewise, I couldn't get 2 different filter envelopes running side by side without using split filter, which hard pans Osc1 & 2 to left and right. It is also a little short compare to some of the Udemy courses - could maybe use an additional section where we learn how to recreate some well known sounds.

Really like it so far. Mikael has a very professional way of teaching the material. I like that he outlines all the key info at the beginning of each video with slides and then goes into detail on every single point and finally brings it all together with a summary. Feels like I'm getting the complete picture. I look forward to finishing the course.
