Basic Concepts of Scala Programming in Easy Way

Advance Scala Technologies

After completing this tutorial, you will find yourself at a moderate level of expertise in using Scala from where you can take yourself

Why take this course?

This course is designed for the people who want to learn Scala Programming. Scala is very popular in the Field of Big  data.

Here in this course we clear the topics:

  • Installation Guide
  • Veriables
  • Values
  • Function
  • List

In this course We get a lot of programming practice with Hands On!

Now a days Very Big Company Like Twitter, Microsoft, AirBnB use Scala instead of Java because of its simplicity and Faster Processing Speed. Only for that Twitter move their Main Message queue from Java to Scala.

Scala is introduced by Martin Odesky in the year of 2003. So you can say that it is a very new language compared to C, C++, Java etc.

Scala is a multi-paradigm programming language. Mainly Scala is designed to express common programming pattern in a concise, elegant and type-safe way.

Most importantly it is a Hybrid Programming Language because this language smoothly integrate the features of Function Programming language as well as Object oriented programming language.

Scala is closely related to Java and Both of Them run on JVM (Java Virtual Machne).

Couse could cover more details and deep concepts. It looks like a very basic course. May be this is because only Section 1 is available in this course.

quick and useful intro to Scala. Just needs some information on classes/objects and information on libraries that exist.

excellent course, good videos. I took off half a star as the videos stop abruptly some times, which takes away from a good video for knowledge transfer.

I was able to install it and compile/run the program. Only challenge was, it had given me some warning, that it uses deprecated methods, which i dont know how to resolve.

Il corso è troppo breve anche per essere introduttivo ma l'insegnante spiega molto bene e fa esempi utili

As far as a brief introduction to Scala I thought it was good. It is not at all comprehensive, so you will need to supplement this class with additional resources if you want to further your education as far as Scala is concerned. I installed the software on both Windows & Linux with no problem thanks to the well put explanations. I would recommend this to a friend.

Very detailed explanation, and simple examples to understand the basics. The last star is that, it is too simple / basic. It's truly for the beginners with 0 programming background.

I found it annoying to watch the instructor constantly scroll and enlarge the source code and the results. You can just zoom out a little so both are visible and you don't have to constant keep clicking, scrolling, adjusting the middle divider, etc. Organization of the conditional statements would make reading the code easier as well: //declare if if //indent the contents of the if statement else //indent contents of else statement

The explanation is not up to the mark, also the topics covered are explained in a very mechanical manner

Don't waste your time on this low-effort junk course. Every single aspect of it is bad. You can see that course author did not want to put any efforts in making this: * constant mistake which he did not bother correcting * audio volume jumping from lecture to lecture which did not bother normalizing * awful recording - content is not full-screen, constantly adjusting windows and such To summarize: author clearly did not gave a crap about the result - why should you?

Se queda muy corto. Incluso para beginners, una web de introducción es más extensa. La instalación también se queda a medias o esa es mi impresión.

Instructor might be knowledgeable or experienced in scala, but this course is not that great Even-though this course is free, this is pure waste of time. Do not bother to enroll and listen to this. better read blogs or buy some stuff. definitely don't worth your time

The course is extremely basic, with bad code snippets that do not sum up anything to the basic lessons. Any basic, single page tutorial about Scala can teach you everything this course has, in less time and clutter. Perhaps my criteria are too high right now as I started some days ago a course teaching functional programming with Scala, taught by Martin Odersky. Years beyond what you'll see here, sorry.
