Course Overview

This course teaches you the basics of how to implement EDI ( Electronic Data Interchange ) in SAP. It will help you understand the fundamental concepts at a much deeper level by relating them to simple business scenarios. At the same time, it will not skimp on the configuration details like Partner Profiles, Ports, Segments etc. After you finish this course you will be able to create an IDOC and process it successfully from scratch in any SAP IDES system.

What are the Requirements ?

Experience at least in a technical or functional module is preferred. But at least familiarity with SAP is OK. You don't need access to an IDES system, but if you have one, it is going to help you tremendously in the hands-on. We do NOT provide access to SAP as part of this course.

I strongly recommend that you practice what is being taught in the course. Starting from section 3, we talk about configuration, perform transactions and do different kinds of customization in SAP. The best way to really understand and retain what is being taught here is to make sure you practice those transactions in SAP as much as you can.

It has a pretty bad audio quality, constantly volume changes and back noise/humming which is pretty annoying and distracting. Also, the trainer accent makes hard to understand concepts and the subtitles do not help at all as these are auto-generated by her voice which reflects her accent (as said before). I’m sure, she knows about this subject but even though it’s a short course, it has been very difficult to end it as I have to rewind all the time to listen back again to understand.

I am good user of udemy because most of the instructors will teach in real time. But this course made me down alot, She is very slow and incomplete. Skipping the topics without teaching fully.

This course is more about theoretical, though she tried to cover up all the part related to configuration. what I was looking for is practical ...more practical. Like how Idoc is being passed to any third-party system and vice-versa, converted through EDI and to achieve the functionality whether we need to use any FM or implement any zprogram . A hands-on end to end development of an object (example-SO/PO passing to any third party and vice-versa ). In case of ALE, the same thing happened only theory part covered. A hands-on end to end development of an object could be added. Like how a master data goes out from ECC to CRM/SRM or vice-versa. I was looking for the total flow of an object development. I am really unsatisfied with the course.

This course provides a nice overview of a number of topics relevant to EDI implementations within SAP. The course does have problems with the sound level going up and down between sections, which I found distracting. The instructor also speaks without any intonation; the monotone delivery makes it harder to stay focused on the material.

Audio in segment 3 drops considerably, and is hard to hear. Content seems straight forward, accent makes understanding slightly more difficult

Well done explained course about IDOC, EDI, ALE. Experienced instructor, clear explanations on each subject. Subtitles are awful. It is a petty they are so wrong, because it downgrades the quality of the course. I thing more examples of the real life could be added. Keep up the good work!

It seems the instructor is knowledgeable but it lacks example and the phasing is so fast. Also, I'm not sure if ALE is added intentionally as a teaser instead it appears that the training is incomplete.

This course title is SAP EDI Training but has almost nothing hands on about the EDI integration scenarios with SAP Systems especially the messages in ANSI X12 and EDIFACT format being translated from EDI subsystems. ALE and IDOC topics are discussed in details.
