In 2005, I lost my job and instead of looking for a job, I decided to just start my business and give it a shot. I never looked back. I am going on my 13th year of working out of my house as a business owner designing websites.

I purchased this course because the instructor is supposed to have 11 years as a freelancer. I thought this was going to be in depth information boy was I wrong! In the first section he just rambles and breaks up the rambling into different videos. Honestly that could have been done in one or two videos. He goes on to talk about how to hire a team before he gets to marketing for clients! When he does get to the marketing it is a general overview of networking and word of mouth. In his intro he talks about using social media but never mentions it. I guess we are supposed to just know how to do that ourselves. Most of the documents were over 10 years old and when I checked those websites he has on them they were a blank page. Since the title of this course is supposed to be running a successful web design business for 2018 I would have thought he would have used methods and contracts from at least 2017. The course is in need of a serious upgrade.

This was a good beginner course. I would like it if he gave us an opportunity to ask questions. I had two questions. I did like the idea about staying friends with the competition. It made since to help one another, instead of becoming rude or arrogant. Overall the course was good.

I guess it is good to hear from someone actually performing in the job. But it seems air time is wasted on common sense stuff. Some content is also old and needs updating . This title said SEO business for 2018, yet outsourcer.com doesn't exist. I feel like there should be some helpful sites included that can help a designer or seo. Video stopped every 30 secconds or sooner. I changed PC and and tried at work, same problem. However, the content is clear. I have not really learned anything new yet, except to always have an hourly wage and not worry about what others are charging. I am sure the descriptions of what the legal forms mean are helpful to others who it may be new to. Personally for me, it was not too helpful.

Bruce Chamoff has a excellent 5 star course for anyone beginning a web design business! I'm a experienced Internet Consultant so it was very basic for me, but it it always gives me confidence to start from the beginning and work my way up! I'm looking forward to the started his more advanced classes, and consulting with him on one of my websites, Busy-Mom.com !

I was a little underwhelmed by this course, in all honesty. The whole first section seemed a little rambling, and didn't really provide too much helpful information. The documents section was a little more helpful, but the templates seemed a little outdated. I'm not sure if the instructor is adding onto the course, or what, but it also ends rather abruptly. I have a few other courses from this instructor that I haven't started yet. I hope they are a little more informative.
