The instructor covered everything which is overwhelming for a guy who knows relational and non relational databases. If the instructor used Redshift in his day to day activities at work, he could have covered important and most used content instead of covering everything. Most of the people who buys the content expects minimum to cover real time scenarios with respect to issues/design/tuning and so on.

The course was OK, very basic at the start. lost 2-3 hours just to cover DDL / DML and basic database. I understand that course-recorded approx in 2016 / 2017 onwards a lot of the screens have changed by now. There was no information on the screen that the UI had changed. The UI changed information shared in Section 12 onwards from 2018 -Jan 2021. I took this course in December 2023 and there were no course updates after Feb 2021 till Dec 2023 There was some missed leading example in the course as well for example section 14 (135 TIMETZ data was stored as 1:00:00 in the EST time zone and Redshift stored data in the UTC timezone which was 06:00:00 UTC, but the instructor said it was 6:00:00 in EST. Good course but could use more detail on data distribution; how to determine what the dist and sort keys should be, what are tables needed based on the data attributes, volume and types of consumers - some guidelines, recommendations would be appreciated.

The AWS console included in the course is very old and many option are not present current console. The course is created before 2018 so the course name should be Mastering Amazon Redshift 2017 Development & Administration instead of 2021. The author need to update the entire course giving new features of 2018,2019 and 2020 in sections

En cuanto a la teoría, aceptable (3 estrellas de 5). Tuve que complementar conocimientos con otro curso y mucha lectura de artículos de AWS de manera independiente. La teoría expuesta sirve de guía. En cuanto a la práctica, 2.5 estrellas de 5. Punto por mejorar: transcripción escrita de los módulos en el idioma que sea (pero que pueda procesarse en traductores).

Worst course you can expect , all theory that to copied . when it comes to lab the instructor just shows this is query and this is how ,it can be , if you want to teach have a at least live project . And whats with the masking , most of the time the screen is not visible as due to masking .

Mostly copy/paste from aws official training resources. Lack of individual examples and exercises. Nevertheless It was worth buying to motivate myself to review all redshift features.

The Redshift service is pretty huge topic, and the instructor did a good job of covering the most crucial aspects and plus covered new feature releases especially the cross cluster data sharing lab. The topics, I wish threw more light was on the SUPER datatype, and more depth on classic vs elastic resize. Redshift is releasing features like anything, and I look forward to seeing more of these covered.

The course is very frustrating because I take detail notes in Word and want to iclude diagrams so can index my notes and jumpt to topics with explanations and diagrams. In this course I cannot cut and paste the diagrams because the software protects against that. Int he sample videos before I enrolled in the course they copy was allowed. I understand wanting to protect intellectual property, but what I see as that the vast majority of diagrams I have wanted to copy exist exactly as is in AWS documentation. So I am forced to frequently stop the video search AWS docs for the topic and get the diagram. Then while in the AWS documentation I get sidetracked and just read it. When I get back to the course I already learned from the AWS.

we got time thats why we are enrolled for the course..its very irritating to hear "if u got time" .."if u got time"..in each section..seems like th einstructor does not have confidence in his own content..
