Why take this course?

Welcome to cross-platform app development. With React Native, mobile apps can be written for iOS and Android with just Javascript. In this premiere course, we will walk through the steps to create full stack React Native applications from scratch.

Here is why you should join:

  • This is the only online mobile development course taught by a professional bootcamp instructor.

  • 91% of my in-person bootcamp students go on to get full-time developer jobs. Most of them are complete beginners when I start working with them.

  • The bootcamp program I teach costs $15,000. This course is just as comprehensive but with brand new content for a fraction of the price.

  • Everything I cover is up-to-date and relevant to today's developer industry.

  • Along with the course, I wrote an extensive guide to getting started with mobile app development on my website.

FAQ:

How long is this course?

The entire course is self-paced, and can range between 1-2 week's worth of work.

At the end of each week you'll have a new skill in your toolbox for building full-stack mobile apps.

What are the prerequisites for this course?

We assume you know the basics of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and perhaps have dabbled in a newer front-end library (like React) to recognize what it offers. With that said, we spend as much time as we can to ensure that we introduce and explain all the technologies we intend to use before we use them.

The course does not teach you how to program from scratch. We delve into intermediate/advanced code, for example, building a GraphQL server with Node and using Hooks with React.

While you don't have to be a React Native expert, it is good if you have, for example, gone through a basic React Native tutorial beforehand.

Why did you choose [X] technology?

We picked the technologies for this course based on our experience, how well these technologies work together, and their use in numerous production applications today. With that being said, we stress the important patterns and concepts we think one needs to know to help build whatever React Native application one might have in mind. There's a lot of information you'll learn from this course to help get you where you want to go.

Code is quite old, Profile component at the last section is duplicated with Profile screen, so I got embarrassed.

The quality sound sometimes is pretty poor, and sometimes it's pretty hard to understand what is going on because the missing comments on the code or explanation of the lecture.

It has been a bit fast to catch up with the instructor for me, I mean not in the time sense. I had a hard time understanding the concepts and to reasonate what we do in the course sometimes but other than that, project choices are good and there are some cool tricks as well. Thanks for the work.

The author provides exceptional critique of complex, but vital methods of implementing developer modules. A definite 'must see' for any serious, professional mobile app developer.....

The course overview states in bold letters: "we introduce and explain all the technologies we intend to use before we use them." This is just not true. In fact, almost nothing is explained. Beyond that, its not even a good type-along style tutorial because so many people are going to get hung up on packages, dependencies, all of the copy/pasting and using commands with zero direction or explanation.

Topics match what I was looking for, but the execution is poor, First of all this "Course" doesn't cover anything, it briefly go over execution by mostly copying code from an external site. this whole experience is weird, The instructor at times seems unfamiliar with the code he is using , ignoring bugs he is seeing, even when it's obvious. Uses syntax / code style that is hardly recommended. ( the 6 lines of spread syntax for example) two of the chapters use outdated boilerplate from the expo cli, luckily he included source in later chapters so I was able to follow with the copy & pasting... fun The quality of recording is also lacking , definitely a home environment, also the speaker is speaking at very low volume sometimes lowering the voice to almost a whisper. the original price for this one is not high, but as we are all eventually buying these on sale and the price is the same across, I consider this one bad in value

My biggest complaint so far is the amount of copy/pasting from the lecture documentation. If our intent is to learn how to set up a graphql server or a react native app that consumes a graphql api, we should be typing out the boilerplate and learning what all the pieces are. We've learned very little about React Native components or about the initial setup of a graphql server. It's good to know how to write queries, but if we don't know how to get a server stood up in the first place, that won't do us much good.

Helps to fill in gaps that I missed with Express, Sequelize, and React-Native! This course is great for someone who understands the basic of React.JS and wants to move to React-Native with GraphQL.
