Increased appreciation of Art

The course seeks to enrich your life experience.

The course enhances human development.

Why take this course?

Prehistoric Art. This course is about the best and most unique art from Prehistory. You will be surprised by the amazing art from the past. I will introduce you to the artists who made these wonderful works of art. There are plenty of opportunities throughout the course for you to interact and learn from these artists. I teach lecture courses and studios as I wish they would have been taught to me. Much of the graphic material in my lectures is taken or generated first hand directly by me on site. I teach to learn. I teach subjects as I wish they were taught to me. The Mission Statement. Education is a tool for the improvement of successive generations. I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand. Confucius

This course is designed under the premise that humans should be taught in a way that is modeled after the educational patterns of evolution.

The design, development and application of educational systems based on the educational principles of evolution generates a philosophy and methodology of education in synchrony with the evolutionary education system that is firmly and deeply rooted in each of us.

Education for evolution is an educational system designed to help propel humans forward in the natural course of evolution. The purpose of education for evolution is to enhance and strengthen the natural evolutionary process of humans through the mechanism of education. The means to achieve this objective is the design of a curricula based on the same educational techniques and strategies used by natural evolution, enhanced and guided by the application of conscious educational decisions.

I enjoyed this overview of ancient pre-historic art. I especially enjoyed the encouragement to sketch the ancient images and "interact" with the original artist. I did some sketches of the beautiful animals in the caves in France, and I really appreciate having them in my my art room. I have not completed the final projects, but I do intend to sketch at least 10 of the pieces of art presented in the course.

Excellent introduction to prehistoric art from around the world; amazing visuals, mostly of animals - but the Aboriginal ghostly faces are quite haunting.

I have enjoyed this course so much. I love the descriptions and the body of work that is shown in the course. I am learning as I take notes and sketch along the way. I will decidedly take more courses in the future.

It is a very short crash course, showing a glimpse of what you would learn in a college course but doesn't go into depth on the subjects.

I enjoyed the course. The subject material was not what I was originaly looking for but I was curious when I discovered the course. The material was interesting and has given me some ideas for my personal work, as well as an interest in further research into prehistoric art, especially the cave paintings.

Just really enjoyed, it was something more like reading a book that caught my attention at the Library. Sometimes everything just clicks, and what we read and see becomes a part of us from that moment forward, and we continue to process the impressions we picked up. For me, this course is such an experience. Obviously Professor Federico von Borstel knows, and feels strongly about his subject matter, and indeed I can see the cave art with more informed eyes. Not a criticism as much as a question, there was considerable time spent comparing the manufacture of Arrows used by different early North American cultures. Interesting, but I asked myself several times how this fit with 'Art'. I intend to look for more of his courses.

The course is good as an introduction to prehistoric art. It is explained in the simplest way and on that the author has done excellent work. However, I wish that it could be more in-depth. Hoping for a more detailed or advanced level of art course.
