Why take this course?
This course deals with the mechanics of life. We cover basic principles of mechanics such as work, power and energy storage, and some of the basic material properties that enable living things not only to support themselves but to propel the body forward by walking, running and jumping.
Physics of Life Biomechanics is the second of four modules in the series Physics of Life. Physics of Life Thermodynamics was the first. To follow are modules on Physics of Life Fluids, and Physics of Life Wave Phenomena, which is concerned with sound and light.

These series of Physics of Life are really interesting. I've already studied two courses before: Thermodynamics and Wave Phenomena. This one was about "Classical Mechanics" applied to Biology. And as always it is interesting. I've found the way Professor Turner explains it interesting and more powerful than usually Biology is taught. And in that way you can relate how levers, cantilevers, work, force, conservation of energy, pendulums and so on could be seen in "living systems".
So, again, thank you Professor.

Everything I could have asked for and more. I didn't understand all concepts but the professor always circle back in such a helpful way. Many of the examples he used related to things I find interesting. All in All to keep it short and sweet what a great course.

Incredible! Way beyond my expectations! A course taught simply but with deep concepts. I have never seen such a content anywhere!
