What you will learn

Once the student finishes the IP Helper-Address lecture in this course, they will have a strong understanding of the topics covered.

The understanding of the topics covered is an essential element for any Networking Professional.

Hands-on-Labs will include; Routing, Switching and Access-Lists. This will come in very handy when configuring these at the CCNA testing site.

Students will be able to create and implement an IP addressing scheme, configure and assign vlans, configure and assign access-lists, the NAT protocol and more

This course will prepare the student for the networking certification such as the CCNA or CCNA 2013.

Taking this course translates into making the student familiar with all of these topics so the student can prepare to pass the certification exam

Of course, not to mention that this course will give student a big understanding of ALL these topic

Description

This course is almost 3 hours in length and will cover several aspects of the CCNA certification. Topics covered in this course will include; IP configuration, Vlan and Inter-Vlan communication, the use of the IP Helper-Address, Access-List (both extended and standard), the NAT protocol and backing up the startup-configurations to a TFTP server.

This course is very different from the rest because It's the beginning of a new way of teaching using Smart Board Technology. (We've come along way from the traditional Whiteboard).

This is a fun & interactive course that will give you the knowledge to master these subjects and prepare you for the CCNA certification. (..and yes, I said fun!)

You will need a simulator if you want to follow along. (i.e.: Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, Boson or live equipment). The course was created with the Cisco Packet Tracer.

Please Note: Unfortunately, the Cisco Packet Tracer is proprietary to Cisco and it is not part of this course. So, if in any of the lectures, you hear me say that I would provide the CPT, please disregard this for I cannot provide it and it is not part of the course.

DISCLAIMER:   Please note that the simulators/emulators used in this course are not part of the course. It is the students responsibility to have these to practice with. The Cisco Packet Tracer and/or VIRAL (Virtual Internet Routing Lab) are Cisco proprietary software and can only be obtained through Cisco. It is up to each student to obtain the simulator/emulator of their choice to study along with this course.

The course will also show students advanced configurations of the Cisco Packet Tracer Server components, DHCP, DNS and HTTP. Students will acquire and have a better understanding of the topics covered to guide them towards the CCNA or CCNAX certification.

This course is primarily hands on using the Cisco Packet Tracer with some lectures using the NEW & Improved Smart Board Technology. This type of course is most helpful, not only for the CCNA, but also for real world implementation of networks.

Handouts and labs will be available to facilitate learning and practice.

Once the student finishes the course they will be comfortable with IP configurations, Vlans, Access-lists, and Router configuration. It will also help them in preparing for the CCNA certification so they can have an advantage and pass the exam…also, for those already in the field, it will help them to better understand the use of the topics covered so they can implement it in their prospective networks.

(Please always check the ANNOUNCEMENTS section for new updates and events, since I am always letting you guys know of my newest and latest endeavors!)

So far so good, I’m in the process of absorbing the teaching style of the instructor. Hoping for a much visible video presentation because the numbers are quite hard to read.

This was great hands on experience. I wish we could have added the network used in the access list section on u/n, p/w based remote access to the current lab with a completely different network ip on a seperate VLAN. I also would have to liked to back up my switches.

very good course. its a full complete lab that covers a lot. best thing is that you can follow along in your packet tracer. It also cover some real world situations. Great course. I think I'm going to watch it again. Laz rocks. I think I'm going to buy every one of your course...like every one!

Glass was great! Instructor was great! I would only suggest to slow it down a bit and explain commands better. Some explanations were rushed while some were given good detail.

Really excellent course, the instructor is extremely engaging, and finds a way to explain complicated terms with simple examples and explanations. The lessons are well paced, they never get too hard to follow.

The instructor missed a crucial step in his lecture that took me over a week to figure out on my own. In the early videos he explains how to create the VLANs on all the classroom switches and then trunk those to the Core switch. The crucial step that was missed was the VLANs also needed to be created on the Core switch. I went over the first handful of videos 3 or 4 times and started from scratch several times and he never covered the VLAN creation on the Core switch (except for VLAN 2). While I feel I learned some extremely valuable lessons from this experience, I do not believe that was his intention and thus impacts my rating of this course. Still a very good course and I learned a lot. Hopefully the Q&A I left and the rating will help future people get passed this error and soak in all the great content this course offers. Thank you.

Extended access-list section too breath, would have like to have liked to learned about implementing access-list with time-range and blocking domain name and\or ip's. Overall I found the course to be beneficial, helpful and the delivery very good, just would have like to see a little more depth in some section.

Always easy to understand, he makes mistakes like the rest of us, shows us how to fix them and makes jokes about it. I can't wait to see his CCNP courses coming up in November,

Mr. Diaz your an excellent teacher and I should know because I am a teacher also. Your speech is very clear with examples are distinctly displayed, readable and understandable. Using a split screen allowed in Windows 7 Professional I was able to follow along and re-create your lab in my version of packet tracer. I learned a few teaching techniques from you with respect to ACLs and overall I am very satisfied that I attended this class. Because of this Mr. Diaz, I have purchased additional courses from you on Udemy and believe the results expected from those courses will be as phenomenal as this course was. Thank you sir, for the fine job and helping a fellow teacher to be a little better in the area of presentation.

From this course I learned how RIP & RIPV2 work and securing networks using ACL's. Both very important information but there's more. Very informative course!
