The instructor great. This is what I wanted to learn because I am going to take the complete Ethical Hacking Course for 2016/2017. I have also completed the Wireshark course to that end.

Nmap is a huge subject and here we scratch the surface just right, no more or less then what is needed to understand the basic functions and give us a fighting chance to learn more. In my opinion this is Jimmys strength, just giving us enough to understand the information we find when going out on our own and learning more without it being overwhelming. That's a fine balance that he always nails perfectly. Another great course, looking forward to more of these with Jimmy. Good luck!

I thought this was a very good introduction to Nmap. I knew that Nmap was basically a port scanner that could be used to find versions of running software on remote boxes. I now have a much better understanding of the tool and how to use it. The biggest eye-opener for me in the course was the section on scripting. I had no idea there were so many pre-written scripts that came with Nmap by default -- the most powerful part of the tool! Just a couple suggestions. I would recommend the instructor explain how Nmap fits into the broader pentesting strategy. Why am I using the tool to find open ports? What should I do once I get the versions of the software running on those ports? There were also a couple concepts that could have maybe used a bit more explanation. The Syn scan for example. Why would one want to perform the Syn scan over a standard connection scan where the complete tcp handshake is performed? I found myself not really understand why. Generally, I think it could be useful to explain things in context at a bit of a higher level before going deeper into the usage of each component. Overall though, great job. I recommend this course to anyone with basic familiarity of Nmap who is looking for a deeper understanding of the tool.

This is a short but rigorous introduction in the use of nmap. The presenter has a clear scandinavian accent and some unusual pronunciation to get used to. The course is not structured following 'you want to do this? this is how that could be done' but more following a 'let's walk through the documentation together' format. You should already know some bare basics about networking.

Course had very good focus on teaching Nmap to beginners, enjoyed the presentation, Jimmy provided very clear instructions and showed a lot of exercises.

This was a very useful introduction to NMAP. Plenty of example uses were demonstrated and the explanation was clear and thorough. Based on this I will be looking at more courses by the same instructor.

Interesting course. I do use NMAP day to day at my job but I still picked up some good tips here. The instructor is a very easy to understand. This is a great primer for people who haven't used NMAP or are just getting started using it, wonderful tool. The title is accurate that it's more of an intro course, and for that it's highly recommended. Disclaimer - I received a discounted version of this course for an honest evaluation.

This is a solid little class, well instructed and a great intro to nmap. I've been using nmap for years, this little tutorial was a nice recap of features and a little bit of scripts. Good stuff.
