This course 'Motivation: how to motivate people' is based towards students who are interested in learning how to motivate clients, team members, employees and basically anyone else you want to help out with their motivation.
Motivation is more than just being supportive and speaking some encouraging words. Together we will discuss what motivation is and how we can get people to be more motivated. There are actually some things that you can incorporate to potentially increase motivation.
You will learn the difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation and discipline. We'll talk about the different levels of extrinsic motivation. Ever wondered if you can actually motivate people by rewarding them for doing something or punish them for not doing something? Well, in this course you find out if you should or shouldn't implement such a reward system.
You will also learn how some important theories around motivation, like the self-determination theory and how it can be used in real life. What does someone need to become motivated? There are actually some basic needs that people need met in order to have room for development and motivation. We'll talk about purpose orientation and hierarchy when it comes to figuring out what 'type' of person someone is so we can create the right atmosphere for them to thrive in.
Together we will discuss the important elements that you should incorporate to help and assist people with their motivation. We'll talk about giving people autonomy, feedback and why setting up a plan of action is important. All simple things when you think about it, but how do these play a role in staying motivated?
And last but not least, we will have a look at who you are as a coach or manager and how you might want to change your approach.
