Course Headline:

"Mastering Engineering Drawing & Graphics: Orthographic Projections, Conic Sections, Cycloidal Curves & Involutes"

Course Description:

  • Orthographic Projection: Learn how to accurately represent three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional plane with precision and clarity. Orthographic projections are essential for design intent communication, analysis, and the construction of complex structures. πŸ“

  • Orthographic Projection of Points: Master the basics by projecting a point onto principal planes, understanding its application across different quadrants. πŸ”

  • Conic Sections: Discover the intricate beauty and practical applications of conic sections in various fields of engineering. These curves, derived from a cone's intersection with a plane, are both mathematically rich and visually stunning. πŸŒ€

  • Cycloidal Curves: Explore the unique properties of cycloidal curves generated by the motion of a point on the edge of a rolling circle. Their applications in gear design, cams, clocks, and oscillating systems are vast and significant. 🫠

  • Involute: Dive into the world of gear tooth profiles and understand why involutes are a key element in ensuring smooth power transmission in mechanical systems. 🚫

  • Scales: Learn to apply scales correctly for analyzing objects regardless of their size, whether they be minuscule or colossal. βš—οΈ

What You'll Learn:

βœ… Orthographic Projection: Understand the principles behind projecting 3D objects onto 2D planes, enhancing your ability to design and communicate engineering concepts clearly and effectively.

βœ… Conic Sections: Gain proficiency in representing complex shapes with a variety of conic sections, which will aid you in creating precise designs.

βœ… Cycloidal Curves: Learn how to apply cycloidal curves in gear design and other rotating systems, ensuring efficient and smooth motion in mechanical assemblies.

I am non engineering graduate but want to understand the engineering drawings as i want to supply machining components to a pump manufacturing company, where i will do the machining from the 3rd party but still i feel i should not about some basics of the understanding the drawing to inspect the finished component before delivering to the customer. Please guide me on this. Regards Jayanth Kumar
