This course was a good way for me to get into the fundamentals of making a 2D game on Unreal Engine, as well as getting more use of Blueprints. However it's not a course I'd recommend for someone looking to expand upon the foundations set in this course as there are quite a number of things which I've had to change that were done according to the level of the instructor's experience. The support as well is extremely poor which also influenced my rating.

O curso é bom, da para ter uma boa base de como utilizar o Paper 2D e Paper ZD. Só achei que poderia ter sido mais longo, adicionado mais coisas. Uma coisa que me incomodou um pouco foi a desorganização dos Blueprints, mas isso é coisa minha, pode ser que outras pessoas não se incomodem. Posso atualizar essa nota para 5 estrelas depois, caso o instrutor adicione mais conteúdo ao curso.

I'm putting this at 2 stars because this course needs better support in discord and on here. You can ask a question and not receive a replay for day(s). The biggest thing for me is, how the course is recorded, like a YouTube video, giving he is a youtuber, he makes fast quick content while cutting out stuff as beginner may not understand. Take lecture 28 for an example. He adds an "event begin play" in the course, but any normal beginner will try, and wonder why we can't add one, its because we already have one attached to the enhanced movement. Things such as this is why i ended up deleting the course 30% in because of the cuts, edits and quick doing making my progress halted. This may be a harsh review rating and im fully aware, but every lecture is under 10mins pretty much, so why not update the ones that are outdated for a better customer experience?

I really like this class and I wish there were more like them. The only reason this is not a 5 star is that it seems like no instructor is monitoring the course anymore so you can forget questions being answered. You will need to do the research yourself.

After watching a tonne of YouTube tutorials on how to set up this exact sprite I would get stuck on the Attack animation. I can already see that this tutorial sets up the character much more differently from the YouTube tutorial and am super keen to see how it evolves as I continue through the course to add that functionality!

This course provides a good understanding of how 2D games can work in Unreal. However, the final product has several bugs, poor collision detection, and disorganized code. As an experienced 2D developer migrating to Unreal, I would recommend this course for gaining a general understanding, but not for creating a professional game.

He's going a little fast. It's usually not too bad cause I can pause and go back, but with all the switching I'm doing it just makes it a little annoying. So far the content is great though.

Insgesamt sehr zufrieden, finde nur dass man gerade bei Anfängerkursen ein paar Best Practices zeigen sollte (zb. keine Werte hardcoden sondern in Variablen speichern, Blueprint nodes ordentlich anordnen und generell Ordnung halten, etc...). Nichts komplexes, aber so tut man sich langfristig leichter auch mit eigenen Setups zu arbeiten und dient der Nachvollziehbarkeit.

Moves too fast. Multiple quirks came up when setting up the player start. The object was referred to as "unloaded" in the Outliner. Fixed it after reloading the level, before that my player character was falling through the world.

A very good course. If you are a beginner, it may be difficult for you to keep up with the author. Also, do not expect detailed explanations and in-depth analysis of what and how works under the hood. A good choice if you already have an understanding of how games work or have worked in other engines before
