Krita 5 for Absolute Complete Beginners

This review is strictly my perspective as a first time Udemy/Rich Graysonn student. I taught high school and paid digital photography classes as well as college classes so my review is from a specific POV. Technically, I'd like to see Rich's cursor highlighted or otherwise emphasized so I can see where he's clicking/dragging. Some screen recording programs also allow "clicks" to be recorded so I can see if the mouse was clicked or it simply hovered over a point while Rich was engaged in his stream of consciousness style of teaching. Content wise, some sections felt like they belonged in Rich's Complete Beginner's Guide to Digital Art, not a Krita course. The section on the Perspective Tool could have been shortened considerably. It would also be useful to know when/why Perspective is needed/useful. That was true for all sections, I always like to start with a goal or, at least, an objective in mind. I use a similar "stream of consciousness" style but that requires preparation. I got the impression Rich often improvised on the fly. I don't mind learning while he's also learning but, sometimes, it was painful. His "nested" excursions (By the way... I forgot to mention... There's also this point...) would lose me and I'd forget what we were doing before the initial excursion. I'd like to have covered more tools, even for 60-90 seconds. For example, Bezier Curve. He said he never uses it but a simple demo and description of what it does would help me experiment. Bottom line, it was an interesting class but, in my opinion, not a beginning Krita class. I got what I wanted out of it because I knew what I was seeking. Now, I plan to go back over the salient points that address my needs.

I am a complete newbie to digital art, and I took this course in preparation for Mr. Graysonn's "Complete Beginner's Guide to Digital Art" course, and I feel like I have a much better handle on how to use the software than I did previously! I had no idea Krita had this much functionality, and I look forward to seeing what I can do with it.

A smaller course with a clear goal. Rich executed it amazingly. If you are familiar with his style of teaching, this is just more of the same. The subject matter is Krita. Keep in mind that even with basic lessons about some features, depending on your scope and style, you won't use all of that at once. At least not right away. I am very satisfied. However, keep in mind: The number of hours doesn't reflect the value of what you learn. This is a short and basic course. Please be aware of that as you make your purchase and wait for sale if you are not comfortable with the full price.

Rich is very passionate about providing accurate and constructive information. For some time now I have been looking for a course to get me up to speed with Kirta and how some of the tools are used. This course is just that; simple, easy to understand, and gives you working knowledge of terminology and tools used by Kirta in comparison to other editing software. Thanks!!
