The course might have useful information for some, but it certainly didn't give me what I expected. How to design a book cover has not been explained the way I thought it would be.

Very good course. The instructor David J. Ault is very clear in his explanation of the subject. My only comment is - some lectures are specifically suitable for Mac Users.

I expected more design concepts or information about what goes into a cover design. I didn't expect run down of some websites and how to outsource or buy things. At least this author showed the websites listed and he had a few decent suggestions. This is really more of a 'Things to Consider' not a 'How To'.

I expected more from that course. I learned nothing new from it. This course maybe useful for very beginners.

Some good information here about finding images and managing your cover design project, but this will not show you how to actually design a cover for yourself. You'll need to look elsewhere for that.

It was a good a good collection of information, but not so much about the actual process of creating an eBook cover as I had expected.

I've already taken other courses on e-book publishing and cover design, so I was surprised when this course took a different slant on the subject by recommending different software than the others. As I said, this course suggests software programs not found in the other courses. There are examples of designs and effects produced using the new (to me) software and showing the ease of use. If there's a cost involved, it's stated in the lecture demonstrating it. There is a resource list included that gives links and access to the programs and sites discussed in the course. Also included in the list is access to a free online cover design program which is so much more versatile than the others that I'll be using it from now on. It's obvious the instructor is an expert in the use of the software programs as demonstrated by his samples and examples. It's an interesting and well presented course.

I really enjoyed this course mainly for all of the different tools you can utilize. I now have an arsenal to make my book the best it can be. David Ault was clear and concise about what to do and expect when it comes to designing the book, and offered several options for different people.

Kindle eBook Cover Design and Book Illustration by David James Ault was another very good course and the fourth in a series of courses that I took produced by the same instructor. The others were “Writing Productivity Habits For Self-published Authors”, “Kindle Publishing - How To Publish An eBook On Amazon” and “Scrivener - Unlock The Power Of Your Book Writing Software” and I expect to do at least one more called “Formatting eBooks - How To Format For Kindle and ePub”. I am a loyal fan because when I find somebody who knows how to teach what I want to know… I stick with them!
