We'll start out by setting downloading and installing the Sublime Text Editor - for free. That's the only tool you'll need to start writing and running Javascript code.

John is a great instructor in that he explains every concept thoroughly with with a practical explanation of how and why the functions do what they are intended to do. I have recommended this course to fellow colleagues (for those barely beginning with web development) at my place of employment and their feedback has also been extremely positive. Hence, I highly recommend this course if you're starting out with web development.

John is a quick but thorough teacher. He explains all the basics in enough to detail to get you started, is very responsive to Q&A and seems genuinely knowledgeable and interested in the subject matter that he teaches. The quality (visually) of the course is excellent and I would highly recommend this course to any beginner looking to get their feet wet and begin the basics of coding in Javascript : )

Better than Netflix!
- did the whole program in 4 sittings
- got a grasp on JS fundamentals
- confidence booster in taking the learning further
- unbelievably to-the-point and no-fluff course - I'm loving it!
I didn't expect to "master" the JS in a few hours but I needed a good start. So I've searched a lot as I have zero patience for overblown courses. And John delivered 110% - so happy I've picked this one over the others.

This was my first course to learn JS. It is a very good course, very short and informative, I can recommend it without a hiccup. The instructor explains everything very easily and understandable.
The only thing I didnt like, was that I had some bugs that we couldnt really figure out why, I guess its Javascripts problem. All in all a great course to step into these waters.

Where do I start? The instructor seems to be a great programmer, he's founder of Codemy.com. However, regarding this particular course I felt the explanations a bit rushed sometimes. Other thing that I noticed is the structure of the course itself that can be polished with more sections and few more videos.
I think this is a good starting point to get your feet wet with JS in a very basic entry level. Overall quality is good considering this is a free course and with a bribery gift.

Excellent course. It's not super deep, but then again is for people who doesn't know anything about JavaScript at all. If you're familiar with coding (in other languages) though, you may skip a few videos in the middle, but it never hurts to do some rehearsal (you might also speed up the videos in order get things quicker). All in all, it's a must-do course for those like me who were afraid of this language. Give it a try!!
