Why take this course?

EDI is often required when dealing with larger companies. Most of the common interactions between trading partners have been codified into various EDI file formats. We'll teach you how to read EDI files, and how to lookup implementation guides to understand what each field means.

This first part of the course is high level, and can be used by managers, business analysts, and quality assurance/testers to gain a deeper understanding of EDI. The second part of the course will show how to process EDI files in several popular programming languages.

The course looks at three families of EDI messages: ECommerce, Motor Carrier (Trucking/Logistics/Freight), and HIPAA/HealthCare. Implementation guides are discussed for the most popular messages in each category.

At the end of this course, a programmer should be able to either create an EDI file from a database, or receive, parse, and store incoming EDI information into a database. All the programming examples will be done with the EDI 850 Purchase Order.

It is good course for understanding EDI from scratch. I got what I was looking for in this course. Instructor is good with live coding. However I not a coder. Overall great course for understanding the EDI segments and understand the mapping. I found Commander, Liaison EDI Notepad and Notepad ++ sessions very useful. I actually installed Double Commander and have started using it. Thanks

This course says its for beginner and up but quite a bit of this to include total commander and Notepad plus plus is very confusing. The files that are on here to download as tools are not readable by a basic computer and I had to go look for them online.

The instructor is very good at explaining how he codes. I especially like to see him correct errors as he his coding; I learn a lot from this. If this instructor continues to release videos I'll continue to buy them.

I learned about the formats and basics of EDI in the first sections. The programming sections were too long, and spent too much time showing you how not to do it. It didn't hold my attention at all.

There were a view videos that I felt were repetitive but I did appericate the time spent going over other company EDIs. Most of the latter videos I could not do becuase I do not have access to the software used/or am not using it for work. However, it was very informative.

I work with EDI in one of the companies the lecturer mentioned in his partner/vendors lesson and I am learning a lot of things that they leave out during the internal training sessions within our company. I am able to piece together the questions that I had before that the trainer wasn't able to answer sufficiently. This is a very good introductory course in the subject and will get you far in your EDI journey.
