It's been helping to develop my ear even if I'm 30+ years old, I'm using it to train at least 30m or 1 hour a day.

Learning the sounds of the notes. When i was young and was self taught were by numbers where C=1 on your right hand and so on. I learned without sounds and what notes were what numbers because i only seen & focused on the numbers playing a two key board organ & an accordion. I'm hoping i can learn better so i can play my church. I'm turning 60 at the end of the month.

This is the first video/course/training that I've ever found that actually helped me be able to hear and recognize the notes.

I never thought I would be able to pick out notes. I have played guitar and bass years, but for some reason, I always knew when something was not right, but I never could figure out how to make it right without a bandmate or somebody telling me

This was fun - instructor is delightful and practice is delivered in small bites. Progresses slowly and steadily - and it's FREE! Will definitely purchase the "advanced" versions.

Hi Ilse. For almost 12.5 years I struggled with recognizing and remembering the sound of each/every music note. But since Music Note Recognition Lesson 1 and all lessons in your course ‘Introduction to Ear Training’, I no longer struggle with recognizing music notes while I hear them being played. In all these lessons exercises, I got many of my answers correct. It’s because this course caters for teaching me how to learn/remember music note recognition by using visual senses in my brain eg. hearing music notes sounds whilst I see video footage of them. This procedure made your music note recognition lessons/exercises easy and effective. It’s because my brain naturally involuntary learns, processes, understands and retains easy and difficult information by me visualizing it and its’ sounds as movie footage. My brain functions that way probably because since my childhood I always had a movie-footage-like memory of lessons, events, movies, life experiences. Because all these have made me overcome my music note recognition struggle, you are the best music note recognition teacher. I hope on www.udemy.com you’ll teach music chord recognition by the same procedure/way/activities you taught your course ‘Introduction To Ear Training’ eg. hearing music chord sounds while I see video footage of them. I hope you win a best music ear training teachers award/trophy. You deserve it. Keep up the good work. Overcoming my music note recognition struggle has been one of the hardest and most difficult things I’ve ever had to do/achieve. I can’t get over that your course ‘Introduction To Ear Training’ made me overcome my music note recognition struggle. I congratulate you that you are the best music note recognition teacher. Your lessons in that course were/are the fastest way to learn music note recognition. Good luck for you to continue succeeding teaching this course on www.udemy.com and anywhere. I also hope that on www.udemy.com you’ll reach music chord recognition lessons/exercises. I wish those types of lessons/exercises would be taught in your course ‘Introduction To Ear Training’.

At first I thought this was about improving natural hearing ability, but it’s actually musical related to help recognize different musical notes. Still, I found it all interesting not being a musician myself. I immediately thought of classic pianist Chopin being able to memorize every note. Ilse came off very experienced in her craft and teaching. Musicians will love this.

phenomenally basic and slow passed. repeating notes in exercises feels like a waste of time as obviously it's the same note

Good quality. Simple to follow. The repetition and addition of one note at a time was key. Will go over and over....

Course is good. Doesn't really need any previous experience of music or anything. While I know it's a free course and too much to ask for, maybe the teacher could have included some tips or tricks to remember the notes better. However, even if you just try understanding the notes as done in the course you'll eventually manage to train your ears. Would definitely recommend anyone reading this to give this course a try.

very useful information. With practice, I can't see how it won't improve my note recognition. Thanks.

Nice course. This is a practice session class. There are no lectures, but if you want to learn the notes this is a good class.

Very nice course. I had to redo some of the lessons to be able to recognize the some of the notes correctly. Looking forward to the subsequent courses. Visual presentation could have been a bit more pleasant, but this was a free course so I'm not complaining.
