This course contains 27 videos and is just under 3 hours long. Watch the videos at your own pace, and post questions along the way if you get stuck. You don’t need any special knowledge or tools to take this course, I'll show you everything you need to know.

Perfect introduction to the language. Covers the basics and gives you a little program that you can tweak and expand on your own at the end.

Avoid if you've ever used other languages like HTML or CSS or Java in you life ever, even tangentially.
This is just how ruby syntax is slightly different for someone coming from other languages.
Not worth anything over $10 I'd be happier with $5 maybe.
In the end he walks you through the 1 and only practical example and doesn't even finish hashing out some things he brings up during his commentary like
"You can put in logic here to make sure it's not divisible by 0"
And he doesn't even have the courtesy to just write it out for you, which makes sense because he just pushes his own course at the end lazily with a "hey just come to my website for $147 but I'll give you a discount for $100 weeee"

This guy is a brilliant teacher/geezer. I have never written a code in my entire life more than 'hello world!' crap. Thanks to you, i have just written a Pythagoras theorem calculator and the best bit is that it works! I am going to buy your ruby on rails course if you have one on here. You have challenged me and made me have an interest in coding. Keep up the good work. If anyone wants to get into coding, this geezer comes highly recommended. Explanations are so clear and concise, he also supports whatever he does with examples. Lastly, the flow from one concept to another is very good. He carries his students along. He hasn't paid me to advertise him, but i just think its worth giving credit where its due. If you were an eBay seller, you will get A*******. Thank you once again!

I found this course to be very clear, and informative. It's a perfect starting point for Ruby and I feel that in just a few hours I've learned a great deal about the fundamentals of the language.

Awesome lessons, very thorough in introducing the whole process. I would like to suggest some exercises for us to practice in certain chapters like fizzbuzz.

Instructor is very easy to listen to. I know a little more than nothing in programming but have been in hardware and IT support for 20 years and the pace so far is very reasonable.
Finished the course and am thoroughly satisfied. Thanks John for the free PDF copy of the book.

Good course. My knowledge of Ruby was already at this level so there were maybe few things that I learned. For someone who is absolutely new to Ruby and programming it's a great course.

The instructor talks clearly, progresses at a good rate, and provides good examples which makes it easy to understand the Ruby syntax.
