Good Course, Bonus lecture is nothing but promotion of codemy but overall for a fresher, it is good enough to learn

It is PostgreSQL for beginners, as described. More advanced students might want to looks somewhere else for more in-depth course. For people like me, having no prior experience with the subject, this is very good place to begin.

This course was mostly a review for me, but was well organized and covered the basics in a short amount of time.

I think it was quick and easy introduction to PostgresSQL databases. Only thing I would add is some exercise to create third table. That can of course be done after the course, but repetition is the key in the beginning.

As a DBA working with MS SQL Server since the 4.2 days, I was just looking for an overview of Postgres. This covered that from a "using the product" angle...get it installed, create some tables, queries, backups/restore....now on the hunt for a similar intro to the administration and performance tuning side ;)

Lots of fumbling around, doesn't seem like an advanced/expert instructor of postgresql. Covered the basics though, just could have been cut down by 75% without the silly user errors

The difference between the current Windows PGAdmin and the one used in the demo is now so great it detracts from the course material. Current is desktop app not browser-based and most dialogs have changed format, icons and terminology in some way.

I am using a mac in 2023 and my options are nothing like what is shown on the screen. Please update the course or recommend a different one for mac users.

What's nice about John's style is that he works through things in real time, mistakes and all, which helps a beginner see where things can go wrong and how to fix them.

Teacher seems unconfident using Postgresql GUI OR could be very intelligent and doesn' t know how to simplify what he's explaining to a beginner.

Overall the class was good and provided what I needed. To be able to navigate around Postgresql/PgAdmin, create databases and use SQL to test them. John is very animated during the videos which aren't scripted unlike some other courses and at times he seems to lose this train of thought as a result. In a couple of spots in the videos, he is defining items and he appears to be unsure of how to do finish the configuration almost as if he doesn't have enough experience with PgAdmin. It might be worth his time to re-shoot some of the videos. The transition between some of the videos is a little disjointed especially when you are following along and he has added data to the tables between videos. Again, overall not a bad class, with a little more thought and effort it could be a great course.
