After the first half of the course, things became kinda foggy, with the instructor making some valid corrections to the works of the students, but some times making corrections that made the piece less interesting. The last demonstration was very poor in the matter of interlocking shapes, and did not reflect the info in the rest of the course. The first segment and about one or two of the three classes of the second were still very useful for people who seek to improve their composition. Overall, I'd recommend buying only if it is cheaper than usual. Otherwise, it really could use some work.

He explains interlocking shapes at the beginning but it seems like it becomes less the focus as the course goes on. A lot of great information, though.

I really needed to see/hear the simplification elements. "Don't paint what you see" will be with me as I design my paintings. Putting emphasis on planning is something that has been missing in my routine and I'm pretty sure that's a big reason why I feel my paintings fail. Thank you so much!

The information was good but the presentation lacked. It would have been a great course if before the critiques we were provided the same inspiration images his workshop clients were and told to attempt to rearrange shapes to make it more interlocking before watching the next video. Then when we view the critiques we could see where we had the same issues they did. Instead of our own hands on assignments we view the results of others hands-on attempt to apply the knowledge. I am not asking for a refund because I think the interlocking shapes concept will really help my painting but i’m disappointed in the lack of assignments.

Wow! I liked learning how to see as an artist, and not to paint just what I see. Really good delivery by starting with simple shapes to interlocking them creatively around a focal point and adding value.

Learnt a great deal. I have been painting for sometime. I usually paint portraits and shy away from landscapes and buildings as I have not been able to achieve Paintings of interest. I am pleased I chose this course and cannot wait to have a go.
