Learn How to Make Relaxing Music

It was. I'm very experienced in recording typical music (Rock, Country, etc.) but it is a bit of a paradigm shift to move the various pieces into a space where none stand out. So thinking that way and seeing blending techniques was indeed valuable. Well done!

Just started the course. So far it’s exactly what I’m looking for. How to put together the instruments to come up with relaxing and meditation music.

The quality of the instruction is excellent, with the composer explaining every aspect of the composition.

The course is only an overall look into the components of relaxation music which can be perceived only by listening carefully the musics that you like.

This Course is absolutely unnecessary. The trainer does not speak about composition and harmonic modelings, not about mixing, compressing and correct use of effects etc. The course is absolutely lacking in real substance. The trainer does mostly speak about the things, that you hear anyway, when you open your ears. Completely unnecessary - the course, and the content. Its a waste of time and money - for beginners as for the advanced.

I am a guitar player and finished music school. Before taking this class I passed several composition courses on Udemy and my dream was to learn to create relaxing music. From this course I expected to get more precise explanations and instructions. Like for instance, really step by step analysis of the actions the teacher makes, taking every instrument and analyzing and explaining in detail all the monipulations that could be done: pitch, rhythm etc. Giving an explanations on how to create all those beats and more detailed explanations on where to pull and scroll for a certain effect (EQ, for example). More analysis of the harmonies. More detail. Because for me the course felt too superficial. I'm a bit dissapointed, to be honest. I expected something more detailed, like creating a track together form a scrach, receiving some homework. More discussion on the mixing, some simple exercises. Which forms to use and how to alternate parts, like A, B, C... I believe the teacher is able to do all that! Also I think that it would be wonderful to see at least couple of examples/arrangements in some kind of notation (in Musescore with added there text or comment for which instrument the part goes etc.). The teacher is obviosly knowledgable, but giving too less theory in my opinion. By the end of the course I still feel like I don’t really know how to create the relaxing music. I tried and experimented a bit, but all I do – the sounds, mixing sound weird somehow.

This was a very enjoyable beginning track for this class, wasting no time getting you into the subject at hand. The one thing that I wish you would have done concerns your use of sample libraries. I wish that in one of your examples you would have used free sample libraries for strings, as well as other samples, to show that one need not spend another $2000 to produce very enjoyable relaxing music tracks.

Being a fan of Mike's "How to Compose" series, I definitely recommend this course just like the others. There are plenty of good examples, tips and tricks, very useful technics that also shape your musicianship skills in a good way etc. I haven't just watched the videos; I've taken notes, exercised what is explained in each section, made trial/error kind stuff. This also helped me to get the max from this package. Thank you Mike..

This course will teach you the foundations of composing relaxing music. Full of tips and tricks and screen examples. Very well worth your time.

Herr Baggström redet sehr viel und wiederholt immer wieder. Soundbeispiele dauern nur 2 Sekunden, dann wiederholt er wieder ewig schon Gesprochenes. Leider ist der Kurs nicht sehr hilfreich für mich gewesen.

Excellent. I am an experienced musician and composer and this presents exactly the right balance of 'cookbook' information plus tips and tricks to enable me to understand the construction of the genre. It is nice that the course assumes I already understand the basics so doesn't waste time on those. Mike is an easily understandable teacher which is the key to any good course. Great value. This is the second course of Mike's that I've subscribed to and these points hold true for the other on Ambient music as well.
