not seeing much structure here so far -- it would be so much better if there was a clear concept explaining why you need certain aspects and then how to set them up. Why on Earth should we go at regurgitating cheque numbers meticulously instead of introducing some useful concepts and an answer to the question how they are implemented in GnuCash! Still hoping to be able and filter out those concepts that do matter on my own in the course of this tutorial and, if so, will move my rating up accordingly... EDIT: Would have loved to give it a step up here, but actually found that the next parts were even more of a mess and utterly confusing. Looks for a trial balance, doesn't find it nor bothered to check before recording the lecture -- then stumbles across one much later when it really doesn't matter anymore! It seems the lecturer made it all up on the fly, did not fix errors, "surprises" of the system and other mis-clicks (let alone bothered removing them by editing the recorded portions of the videos) and, as a result, is really terribly hard to even follow and listen to. So another half-star lost instead. Sorry, but this isn't very helpful. It also doesn't do the excellent GnuCash accounting software justice.I can see that the lecturer is fluent in the Accounting concepts, but clearly she fails delivering them in a polished lecture or even an understandable format to beginners or accounting non-experts. I do love GnuCash, so I was excited to find this course and maybe fix my UK Ltd Company VAT accounting in the process, but really this isn't it -- at all!

Very qualified instructor. So far presentation is comprehensive, with her speaking in a clear manner, and using grammar that one can understand

I'm being asked this when I have only just started. They ask me how I like it so far. I will continue on and see how it goes.

I could go at my own pace . I had already downloaded and used GNUCash to some extent, so I could skip ahead when appropriate. Then, I could pause or replay the video to complete step-by-step processes which were new to me. Partway through, some lessons dragged a little as the presenter struggled with a very slow computer and with some uncertainty about specific GNUCash processes. On the whole, the course was appropriately simple, broadly practical and well-paced. The presenter's experience comes across in a pragmatic, relaxed tone. I found the overall experience well worthwhile.

Very disappointing, unfortunately. 'though I am very motivated to learn GNUcash, it feels like a waste of time. I get the feeling that this video course was recorded ad hoc, without any preparation. The explanation is messy, there are too many mistakes (I get the feeling that the instructed is not familiar with the software or hasn't used it in a long time), too much time is wasted on trivial things (like entering costumer details...). Also very annoying are the pc problems the instructor is having while recording. Why does this have to be on the record?! The time loss for the instructor is reproduced on the side of every student who is taking this course. Time is money, especially if you are self-employed... This was a very bad first impression of udemy. I hoped to have an enjoyable and efficient learning experience (like I had on codecademy), but I only was able to pick up something useful here and there.

This is a great start to the course because Lisa is very clear and concise. Much of the voice over is often reading the text on the computer example in the video, but that is still better for me to imprint the material than just me reading it and she adds additional comments to the menus dialog boxes. A little more explanation of the choices in the dropdown lists shown would be appreciated, but this is just the start. I have trouble finishing what I start, but this looks promising.

Well i'm not sure if its because i'm from another country but I totally got confused. To listen to fanastic, just when explaining things I wasn't sure she knew what she was doing. I got something out of it so thank you for that. Maybe need to give a bit of fine turn on somethings
