Why take this course?

Geoserver is open-source server software that allows you to publish your geospatial data as a web service. This course will explain what GeoServer is, why and when you need it. We will explore the basics of GeoServer using sample data on a local host version installed on your. computer. Then we will walk through the steps of setting up a project in GeoServer using your own data.

We will see how to set up GeoServer on a hosting service in the cloud, load your data to it, configure users accounts and set their privileges to view and edit your data, filter your data with SQL views and CQL, and finally create your own web mapping applications that use your data from GeoServer so that you can share it with the world.

I have not yet completed the course, but so far, I have found the content to be first-class, comprehensive, and informative. It's been a satisfying learning experience. However, I have noticed a lack of timely support for student questions in the course forum, possibly due to the course's longevity. While the content is excellent, prospective students should be prepared to seek additional resources to address potential questions. Overall, it's a valuable course with the caveat of limited instructor engagement for Q&A.

Please update the parts where you need to connect to a POSTGIS or Geoserver. Overall it's a good course for beginners.

I wouldn't call this course "from A-Z" (it probably gets you to M/N) but overall a good source of information about GeoServer.

This course is a big overview of geoserver main features. If you are not familiar with it, here you will find more than enough to get you started.

I have passed 3 or more courses on Geosevrer. This one is the best one. Specially because of Section 7. That is the only section that we need for web programming.

I would say the best tutorial for GeoServer, that I have seen. I have dearly missed a short intro into WPS. But I was positively surprised by the excourse into Leaflet.

It's not a bad course and is well explained, however I couldn't (along with others) login to ACUGIS which was a major drawback. Posted a question and sent an email but no replies which I found very frustrating. If you are paying for a course it all needs to work and questions and emails needs replying to.

I am a professional software developer and entered this course to learn about GeoServer. The teacher is knowledgeable and manages to find just the right level of details in this course, also his voice is pleasant which is important in long courses like this. My understanding of GeoServer, and more, is greatly improved and I would highly recommend this course to anyone!
