What you will learn

- The first step to 3D mechanical design .

- 2D CAD Drawing in full detail using Sketcher WB .

How to use the Documentation to continue learning on your own .

Why take this course?

Mechanical engineers frequently use different programs for modeling different parts, assembling them, and producing technical drawings for manufacturing.

In this course , I introduce the opensource 3D CAD Design program "FreeCad" .

In this course I explain how freecad works and the differences between it and other 3d CAD programs , like solidworks .

We study in detail different methods of 2D drawing , as the first step of making 3D products .

- We focus on "Sketcher" workbench as the main 2d workbench .

- We follow the Documentation of Sketcher WB and study each feature and apply it , see its advantages and disadvantages .

* The main topics are :

- Sketcher Geometries .

- Geometric Constrains .

- Dimensional Constrains .

- Sketcher Tools (mirror , degrees of freedom , ... )

- Some Sketching Hints .

- Exercises of various types.

We finish the course by over than 10 examples of complicated 2D drawings to apply what we learned.

The solved examples are mainly focused on mechanical design, including famous design characteristics that you will most probably face in your career.

This course is essential to move forward to the next courses in the series, where we study 3D workbenches , ie : Part - Partdesign - Draft - TechDraw ... etc.

- A 30-day money back guarantee is provided by Udemy for all courses .

I Hope you find this course both informative and enjoyable , and that it becomes your gate to mastering 3D design .

looking forward to seeing you in the course !! .

Only watched a couple videos so far but this instructor seems to be a lot better at teaching & puts much more effort than the one I had for the last FreeCAD course prior to this one.

I like the theoretical part of 3D operations and some of the examples in this course. But overall course has very low quality and I don’t recommend it. I have a feeling that instructor works on exercises first time during recording, and often were supprised why some dimensions are not fit. Some of tasks exercises looks different then the result made by instructor. - Ex7 is not finished - instructor tells us that some errors occures and we can finish ourselve as a exercise. Why he not fix his problems and reupload a video? We will not see the solution, but we can ask instructor if we have problems here…. - Description of to many tools at the begining - not all are usefull, why we are talking about them, it’s waist of time. For me better is to introduce new tools at the live examples like simple sketches, to show where they are usufull. - In some chapters we switching between cut scenes, I would like to see what happened between. - Course is only 2D, we will hear that we will not draw all holes in exercises because KiCAD will not handle them in 3D - we will do that later, in the next 3D course (not available at this moment) - so my feeling is that we are not have finished drawings. - After a course I’m not sure is KiCAD the right tool to me. I see a many errors and problems that it’s generated. I constantly heard about it’s limited functionality. - Missing introduction to KiCAD - I would like to see projects which I will be able to make in KiCAD. - Bad description of exercises…. Ex2, Ex3, why we not name the part that we drawing? - As a exercises I would like to sketch parts that exists in the real world - but we are using some theoretical samples. - Some examples have errors - why instructor choose them… - Small technical issues, like audio desync, glitches - constantly during all course. This is very short course and can be done better.
