The course is good so far. What I don't like about it is that the instructor sometimes moves fast in topics that may be new to total AE beginners like me. I still recommend it to those who want to enrich their courses with animation but I also recommend havig some background in AE first before taking it.

Knowledgeable presentation, helpful tips throughout so far. Practical application is being made. I am new to AE, so there are times I need to go back and review points as I progress through the lessons, which I can do easily. I also appreciate the demonstration of a workflow and the useful plugins that are referred to. I think I may come back to this course later to pick up additional points that I probably will not remember this first time through. I am very pleased with the course, it is more than I expected! Nice enthusiasm and humor as well ;-)

This is my first Udemy course, so I'm not sure if the problems in this course are systemic or are just in this course. The course had no prerequisites, leading me to believe I'd learn all the skills I'd need within the course; however, the instructor mostly tells us how to bum off our friends for content and maybe pay them later. Or there were free plugins, but really, you have to pay 50$ if you don't want the process to take 10 times longer. I feel like I've been duped. There was literally a section about creating our animated logo, but the lesson was just about how to insert a premade animated logo into the video. This course, at least so far, is just a collection of decent advice and a mishmash of After Effects shortcut lessons. The course description mentioned learning how to create and animate text, yet the lessons about animating text were really lessons about downloading existing animated fonts and coloring them. I'm severely disappointed. Maybe this method of creating presentation works for others, but I think the description was highly misleading. I'll see if my opinion changes in the second part of the course.
