Step-by-Step Guide to Your Masterpiece
- Preparation: Start by sketching your telephone booth scene with a pencil on your prepared watercolor paper. Use a ruler for straight lines and an eraser for any mistakes.
- Blocking Colours: Apply the primary colours - Rosy Mist and Berry Blue - to create the base of your scene, blending them beautifully.
- Adding Depth: Introduce Brilliant Red, Fast Light Yellow, and Ivory Black to add depth and warmth to your painting.
- Highlighting with Gouache: Use Titanium White Gouache to highlight key areas and create texture.
- The Magic of Salt: Sprinkle salt on wet paint in specific areas to create beautiful, natural-looking snow patterns. Let the magic unfold as the salt reacts with the watercolour.
- Refining Details: Once the salt technique has dried, go back and add finer details with your liner brush and black pen.
- Final Touches: Use a white gelly roll pen for accentuating snowflakes and lighting effects, and secure any loose edges with masking tape.
- Bringing It All Together: With your ruler, create guidelines to ensure symmetry and proportion in your design.
