Create 3D Survival Game In Unity

This course if difficult to follow, slow, and poorly implemented. Hard to understand, unedited content. Not worth the money or time, you're better of learning on your own time.

Well executed, although most of doesn't work on my side as it does his. Don't know if it is Unity versions that differ or what. But Debugging and running through the course again and again. Although, well done, love survival games and glad I can create my own. Thank you!

I enjoyed taking this course. Learned a lot of new things from it. It's a great start towards building a full survival style game. My only complaints are that the instructor can be a bit difficult to understand (due to accent) and would have like to have seen sound/background noise incorporated into it. I find it annoying that a lot of instructors neglect this important aspect of game development. Sound/music is almost as important as the graphics to any game. But, since I've had other courses that actually incorporate sound effects and background noise, I'll just have to draw on my own experience. Would also be nice if we made some of the 3-D objects ourselves... but that would extend the course by a few more hours.... So, using pre-made objects is OK.

I was new to the new input system and now understand it, and a simple way to RayCast ground for jumping. So far so good. Commented details in scripts are a great reminder for future scripts... I have found the scripting is simple but is understandable and should be easy to add new features based on the script base. I like the fact that the instructor does basically everything from scratch such as the particles and does not complicate things. So far this is a base system that can easily be expanded to whatever needs you may have therefor increasing ones knowledge of both Unity and C# skills. So far one of my favorite course and I am wanting to take more from this instructor. Cheers

I learned so much from this course, totally worth the money. Only wish the teacher's voice was a little louder/clearer :-) Otherwise 5 stars!!!

Was a little hard to hear and understand at times, but overall it was very informative and packed with a ton of information.

First of all, the course was good, I enjoyed it and I'm excited to see what else I can do with the project - I wish it would have continued longer. The course contents are a little bit messy, for instance the "fix bug" sections are in confusing place in the course. With the jump bug, you need to change it AFTER you've done the terrain camera on your grid (as far as I remember). I was using 2019 unity in the beginning and later on he informed us that he fixed a bug by upgrading to newer version of Unity, which would've been nice if we were informed at the start of the course (for example in the notes), no biggie though. I used version 2020.3.17f. One thing I found a tad inconvenient, is that even though the tutor went with a decent phase, personally I think a bit too slow. You can watch it at a higher speed though. I feel like I learned new things in this course, even though I am at a beginner level, despite of using unity for some years now. Therefore, I warmly recommend this course and you definitely should pick it up if you're looking for a starter project to work on and to improve from. Thanks for the course, Paul.

well, it was really hard to give this stars only to be honest, the tutor, Paul, is an incredible programmer, a very skilled one, but most of the time, instructions were not clear, sometimes is really hard to understand what the instructor is saying due to his heavy accent, low volume and not so extensive vocabulary, my advice is to add subtitles, so if someone find it difficult to understand, they will still get the information, sometimes there is a cut in the video, and when it comes back, everything is different, and that puts the students in a very difficult situation if they are trying to follow you in a very strictly way, the tutor makes mistakes of syntax, which is normal, nobody is perfect, but in the next lesson or few lessons later, you’ll find out that the tutor simple fixed the syntaxes, and haven’t even mentioned it, sometimes you don’t even know if it’s a new script or if it’s something the tutor had renamed, for example, that helps in creating more chaos in the students side, but aside from that, you will learn how to create KEY ELEMENTS for ANY survival game, a very solid survival game framework for you to create something out of it, also, you will see that Paul is a very dedicated instructor, he always answer your questions, and really try to help, and you can see that he is actually trying his best, my advice for him, is to study a little more of video editing, and work more on his English, that could help him to make his courses even more engaging.

The concept and preview of this course was better than the actual content. Very little was explained in terms of functionality and why things were done in a simple way. The instructor is also not clear enough and I often found myself having to boost volume and replay sections.

The Instructor can be a little hard to follow at times but be patient, he does eventually find what he's looking for and fixes any errors. Mic quality could be improved but you can understand him for the most part. Answers questions quickly and clearly, getting you back on track in good time.

I'm not through the course yet, but like it so far. His accent might be hard sometimes, but I can watch most videos at 1.5x speed and still understand everything. One thing though: I wish Paul would work more on the quality of his course. Sometimes assets are missing and the download can be found 30+ videos later (reading the comments for each video helps a lot). Or settings are set and in the next videos gone or totally different (eg. layers or folders). Nontheless I learned a lot and that's important.

Off the bat, I can tell the quality is a little dated. The teacher's voice coming from max volume is still hard to hear. This is not an issue with the teachers accent, just is too quiet. So far I am liking the down to earth approach.
