I enjoyed this course sooo much! I'm a fan of Gamedev.tv courses as I already completed some others (Scratch, Construct3, Game Design) and enjoyed them all, but it was the first time with this AWESOME Teacher. He never gave a concept for granted, often repeated them through all the course long. When I had some difficulties, I posted my questions in the Q&A section and always got a reply within few hours from his assistant. I think Gamedev.tv found a younger version of Rick Davidson. Looking forward an advanced Godot 4 2D course or a beginner 3D one. Thanks Kaan!

This course was an excellent introduction to the Godot Game Engine in general and especially for 2D concepts. I am a software engineer by trade so I was able to skip over some of the lectures involving basic coding concepts (such as variables, arrays, etc), but I'm glad to see these items included for people who may not have coding backgrounds. I feel the instructor did a great job of introducing one concept at a time and taking the student through concrete examples. Highly recommend this course for Godot beginners!

Extremely well-explained, enjoyable, and organized. I feel like I know the basics on creating these kinds of games, and have a strong fundamental grasp of Godot to try and make others. Would love to see this extended to top-down 2D games like Stardew and basic 3D games to kind of get a complete picture. Maybe some basics on enemy AI and stuff like that, but overall, a great introduction that was super well taught and very fun!

Extremely clear ! Kaan is really a great instructor, always justifying his choices, giving tips and preventing possible errors! What often lacks in bad or average courses... Just finished the course : constantly excellent !!! Don't believe those who say the third part isn't as clear as the beginning ! Looking forward other tutos by Kaan with game deploying, others game logics, AI for enemies etc... Keep the good job !

As a developer, I've take a lot of courses here on Udemy... This is the single best course I've take on this platform. The pace is perfect for beginners. I skipped a few basic programming lectures in this course, but that is to be expected as I have already had experience in py, golang, js. The instructor is clear, concise and explains concepts extremely well. I was hesitant getting into game dev, but after this course I feel like I can tackle it and create things myself. If this instructor has a 3d course, I'll definitely be taking that one. Thank you, Kaan Alpar and team.

Overall, I liked the course. It covered some good fundamentals and I'm excited to put my new skills to the test. The only reason I removed one star was because I felt like the course should have given more exercises and the pacing is very slow for someone with programming experience. The exercises comment is minor as anyone could do what I did and just pause the video and try it out myself before continuing the video. As for my comment on people with programming experience, perhaps in a future version of this course the basics could be handled in a lecture in the front that's optional for people who know how to program?

Mostly good. But like most courses everything related to programming is explain in a sloooow and very careful way while moving around in the user interface of the game engine sometimes feel rushed with a "just do this" attitude.

I would love to see a part 2 where more different types of games are covered! Hidden object, visual move, a stardew / harvest moon style game, basic rpg, other classic 2d styles of games! I think Kaan did an excellent job of explaining each of the sections as he went through them, especially when it came to the scripiting aspect. I've always struggled with learning how to script, and he made it simple by laying it out step by step and slowly building on them over the course, adding little challenges to keep you always thinking and memorizing how to call functions or signals. (Small things for the student to figure out through little bits of problem solving, nothing too hard but it is appreciated!) Would love to see more godot content from this team / lecturer! ??

This is a very thorough beginner level course on getting started with Godot. If you already have experience coding / making games, it will be a quick learning process and you can skip through the beginner level coding concepts without issue. GDScript is pretty similar to C# in my opinion. So, it has been a relatively easy transition for me. If you are brand new to coding, the explanations are really clear and understandable. This has been a great course so far. I am about half-way through it. I highly recommend taking it if you are interested in Godot.

I started having some basic knowledge of Godot, but still found some amazing tricks and ways to greatly improve my efficiency. I had rated it lower earlier because Udemy kept insisting I rated it before finishing, but now that I have completed it I can appreciate more what some of the earlier lessons were building up to. Great expecience over all, it feels very professional and well though out, guiding you from the very basics to some more in-depth points at the end.
