Color grading has been the filmmaking world's biggest kept secret.

How do you subtly shift your colors so they transport us even further into your story?

How can color grading transform your footage into a work of art?

While there are many courses out there that teach you how to use color grading software, there are no courses out there that address comprehensively the creative and streamlined process for professional color grading.

This course shows you how, addressing both the art and science of color grading for filmmaking. The course is divided into three parts: seeing color, using color for storytelling, and implementing a technical 5 step process to translate your vision into reality with Adobe Premiere Pro Lumetri Color.

By the end of this course, you will have all the knowledge and a complete roadmap needed to develop your color grading sensibility and implement a look into your film.

Have you ever watched a gripping TV drama series all the critics were raving about? Due to its success, the producers quickly come up with a second season… you can’t wait for it to be aired… and when you finally get to watch it, you get that somber feeling: It’s not quite as good as season one. I’ve had exactly that experience with this course after completing Dandan’s course “Documentary Filmmaking with Soul”, which I loved. To be fair: Dandan succeeded in giving me a helpful overview of colour correction and colour grading techniques as well as the workflow involved - and that’s what I had been looking for when buying this course. However, I could not help getting the impression that it was made in a hurry, as if it was filmed in a single day. Just one example: Where “Documentary Filmmaking with Soul” comes with short individual clips to introduce every lesson in a simply beautiful way, this course just uses some unremarkable chapter headings. There is, of course, nothing wrong with that, but while Dandan’s main class really stands out from the crowd, the colour grading “sequel” feels like just one of several courses available on Udemy. Dandan’s genuine, positive personality did not shine through to me this time, and I missed her warm, encouraging smile, which had made the main filmmaking course so engaging. This course felt more as if she simply had to do it, more as a chore than out of passion. On a side note: 4 weeks after posting a question in the Q & A section of the course, I am still waiting for an answer from the tutor…

It's brief and works more like an overview of color grading concepts than a complete course on the subject - which is not an issue if that's what you're looking for. It won't get too technical or dive deep on color theories, but it's a good starting point to any filmmaker student.

I think its okay though its too short so you feel as if because you paid cheap, you got a very cheap service from UDemy. Also, she gives adobe premiere sample activities but when it came to saving the file, she only mentioned mac or apple sytem, exclusing students like me who use adobe on windows laptop. I would like to know the option for windows.
