Right to the practical hands on, good for learning the technical details.. but not all function like spark transformation is provided, it is more general use case

Very weak: * no theory/explanation of the subject (i.e. what is the difference between reduce() and reduceByKey() or what is reduce at all) * no materials - just video In fact all I got is several functions with several examples shown as copy paste in small terminal... No data, no sources, no text, just video. Will try to avoid such courses - will watch through chapters carefully just to find out what will I get after I pay.

No explanation for how to prepare your environment. Nothing at all. I don't even know what to download from Cloudera. No explanation at all. Instructor just dives right into hadoop commands as if we received some instruction on how to get set up.

Very good course. What I was missing was the source databases for the lectures - as I'm using custom Hadoop cluster, I did not have the databases at hand and had to bear with the lectures without actual coding.

The context and samples are great. The problem is the lecturer is always writing at the very last row of the screen which gets covered by the video player progress bar.

Good introduction, however getting a bit outdated. The CCA 175 exam now allows the usage of Spark 2.3, which makes loading data much easier, that is not demonstrated here at all. Some exam topics are not covered by this course, so even if you know everything mentioned here inside out, you might have surprise during the exam...

Geralmente os cursos apresentam um tópico onde explicam em detalhes como instalar o ambiente de estudos. Não encontrei esta informação no curso, somente em uma seção de perguntas e respostas. E me parece que a "aula 2" simplesmente não existe. É só uma pagina estática falando que os cursos podem ser visualizados com maior resolução. Espero que não me depare com outras aulas assim. Então resumindo, creio que o instrutor poderia se dar ao trabalho de pelo menos incluir o video dele no curso, de forma a dar um aspecto mais sólido ao curso dele. Notei também que existem várias perguntas sem resposta há vários meses .. isso é ruim .. se o instrutor oferece este canal de comunicação mas não dá respostas .. talvez seja melhor retirar esta opção (ou o curso) da UDEMY. Não acho que o curso valha o preço oficial .. falta qualidade ao mesmo para que o instrutor cobre este preço.

The instructor is very dry and sounds boring although he speaks good english and doesn't have an accent. My biggest complain of this course is that the dataset in the video doesn't match the dataset given. Because I have prior background I was able to figure out why I wasn't getting the same results but someone with no prior experience at all would be totally confused. The instructor was also introducing advanced concepts without giving a thorough explanation of why it is the way it is. Again, someone with no prior knowledge would want to understand why something behaves the way it does. The instructor is knowledgeable but the data provided needs to be checked so that all the files are in the same folders as the videos.

Overall very good, best CCA 175 course exam and is FREE, TO THE POINT . Kept me engaged overall. Few things that could help students:- 1: Mock practice exercises that can boost confidence. 2: Not sure why Kafka and Flume not included in the course? 3: A quick videos on Dos and Don't for exam. 4: A quick video on How to search official documentation during exam? I heard google is not allowed then how do I get the documentation?

The course was really engaging and wonderful, learnt a lot. just a suggestion since its spark it would be better if you can cover the rdd, dataset and dataframe apis in more details. nevertheless the focus was on the CCA 175 so no complaints. Thank you for the free course.
