Very good. The accompanying materials (Resources) are well done. The instructor offers a rudimentary knowledge of chord construction - the rest is up to the student. So far, so good.

The instructor is clear up to a certain point and the videos are helpful for seeing the recommend finger pattern for chords that are beyond your standard chords in pop. However, there wasn't very much depth to the rhythm with 3 basic patterns, which of course are useful, but there is a whole clave and rhythm to bossa nova and this is pretty fundamental to have skipped over. I would spend longer on specifics and going through the songs and rhythms given, as the instructor says, without rhythm there is no bossa nova.

the teacher is good but: 1. the sound of his guitar needs improving 2. no system with rhythem - i prefer to know to count the bit.

This is not a real course. There is no real teaching per se. What is the point of showing a dozen chords without proper guidance, tips, exercises? Course should instead follow on teach fewer things and actually teach something.

When demonstrating the individual chords, it would be more helpful, and comforting, to be talked through them; to get advice on how to approach the more difficult aspects of each chord. For example, which strings are being played, and which strings must not be played; different options for barring; how to address challenging positions for the little finger.

Solid intro course that teaches you exactly what you need to get started. I went from zero bossa nova knowledge to confidently playing the 3 arrangements in the course, all of which are simple but satisfying. For me, one of the trickiest parts of each song was the rhythm, so I think it would be great if the videos could spend more time focusing on that (15-20 seconds just isn't enough, in my opinion). I also think it would help a lot if each song was divided into different sections that you could practice and master before moving on to the next one. Still, I'd recommend this course as it is to other beginners.

Totally enjoyed taking and playing this course and hope that you will provide an intermediate Bossa Nova continuation Level 2 course. CORRECTION: On the resource material fro SAMBA DE VERAO, The second BbMaj7 should be a Bb6. GREAT JOB on the course!!!

So far you have presented a lot of chords that are expected to be played. I am familiar with most of these but some are new to me and will need some practice. It would be nice to add a little more about the chord construction and how it is different from the root chord with out getting into a lot of theory. This may help the student understand what makes a 13th chord (for example) different from a 9th or a #9.
