Finally, we will conclude with producer application and consumer application and later I add real-time applications and integration with Big Data Technologies.

The target audience would be the people who are willing to know about Apache Kafka, Zookeeper, Queues, Topics, Client - Server communication, Messaging system (Point to Point & Pub - Sub), Single node server, Multi node servers or Kafka cluster, command line producer and consumer, Producer application using Java API's and Consumer application using Java API's.

All the material which is used in this course is attached, Java code for both Producer and Consumer, External Documentation which is helpful further.

You can complete this course in 3hours and please don't ignore any Quiz.

We made this course such a way that everyone can understand easily, we added the basic concepts in the beginning lectures , then added advanced topics and finally taught how to use the Kafka server in real time with an example.

Apache Kafka is creating a lot of buzz these days. While LinkedIn, where Kafka was founded, is the most well known user, there are many companies successfully using this technology. So now that the word is out, it seems the world wants to know: What does it do? Why does everyone want to use it? How is it better than existing solutions? Do the benefits justify replacing existing systems and infrastructure?

kafka and zookeeper are really old versions and the new ones have different commands, for example --zookeeper changes to bootstrap-server.

This course is the copy paste of https://www.tutorialspoint.com/apache_kafka/index.htm Each and every word was spoken by the instructor is written on the above tutorial. It is like I am using text reader software for the above link. He displays one ppt and reads in the background. I am giving half star because there is nothing less than that.

The course gives a good general understanding on Kafka, but I missed the real life examples for the different use cases, like use case for queue with consumer group, pub-sub use case with consumer group. Some information is duplicated, some information is only written down in the last slide. To make this course complete I you do the videos and explain them in a bit more detail. I suggest to re-record the exercises, and eliminate the uncertainties. (There's a int i in the consumer what is never used, just remove that too). I would love to see another bit more complex example where a real life like problem solved with Kafka. I suggest to setup a github repo with the code, it's better than copy the code from a slide (if somebody what's to do that). Overall I see the potential in the course. Some more work needed on that.

Great introductory information but sometimes it feels as though the instructor is belaboring the point. This is specifically true with the command line/file editing steps. Despite that however, great getting started information!

The contents are very informative and have many hands-on exercises. However, the pace could be faster and the sound quality could be better. Generally, it is a good one, and I highly recommend it for those who want to jump start using this amazing product.

When i started initially, then i was thinking no much concept and background, even though i continued then i got to know, the real thing which is much useful with step by step and its really helpful if interviewer ask the technical part. Before start any next topic there should be enough background and key concept..I understand that the lecturer is not a professional but very good knowledge of subject and i recommend for those who need practical scenario more than just a blah blah theory.

To much theory to start with.. had a slightly hard time getting used to with your accent :) The course seemed like a pictorial walkthrough of the kafka documentation. Good for absolute beginners.

mostly slideware memos, language is with long pauses between fast spelled phrases missing environment setup( path, home, symbolic links) no use case that is typical for Kafka, namely simple integration with elasticSearch, with Storm with Spark and many others.... ) On top, nearly no material is provided and sometimes, you are recommended to use youtube (which means "row your own") ... in a paid course... ?? And then I found out that the internet adress recommended uses a different configuration which implies , well row your own. I left a couple of questions to the author and maybe he includes some of the hints. But instead of a discussion, I receive a plea for a good rating. I do rate courses high - no problem. And a number of other courses are really great.

I am not a Java programmer and am a newbie at Kafka, so I found this course helpful. I look forward to topics such as what happens if zookeeper or kafka goes down and is there anyway to bring them up automatically? and also more about horizontal scaling where we add new servers or vms to scale up...

No architecture examples while explaining concepts, a lot of basic information missing, such as Stream API, only covers the most basic scenarios, a lot of pauses in the way the teacher speaks, which break pace and are just annoying and would easily be fixed with minor edits to the video.

Its a great course and is really really useful but I have to talk about the negatives as well. The instructor is talking very very slowly, I have to put the lectures on x1.25 or x1.5 to be able to follow. He also didn't record the parts he has a mistake again to make the lectures more clear instead he edits himself at the middle of lectures! This course doesn't talk about win users AT ALL. other than that these, it is a really great course.

The author presents slides with topics headers only. He tries to explain each topic without any details on the slides or visual diagrams. It is up to the audience assumes what is he talking about. i.e. the way he explains KAFKA brokers, he does not provide details

First thing first, Raghu responds very quickly. It is easy to get an answer from him. Then, the course content is organised. Other thing is that he deals with just one topic per lecture.

The course is great and helped me to understand and implement the Apache Kafka concepts. great for someone with little knowledge in Kafka. Raghu explains everything clearly. It's a lot to take in but he breaks it down into a reasonably understandable number of steps. You enjoy spending time learning with him. Finally The Freebies like Tips, Ebooks & others are really awesome :)
