This course is designed for Captivate 8 users who want to create software demonstrations. You will learn how to effectively create, generate and distribute a complete and functional Adobe Captivate Demonstration.
You will learn how Captivate records a software demonstration, how to configure Captivate to better work with your own Demonstrations, what objects are added by Captivate and how to configure the objects to suit you for your own desired look and feel.
There are no additional supplemental materials provided as all you will need is a computer and Captvate 8.
Many Captivate courses begin with introducing you to the application, pointing out this and that in the very beginning. This course takes a different approach. One more realistic in the way that typical authors actually USE and experience Adobe Captivate. It's WORKFLOW based, and Captivate is gradually introduced to the learner.
Along the journey, best practices and tips are offered to help you be more effective.

I had no idea how Captivate worked -- I assumed it would record the screen, but had no idea it would automatically put in the captions and animations for you.

Overall, fantastic job. There were a few times questions came up I thought would be covered and weren't (like why does it say 'Highlight Box' over it?), but I learned a lot, very useful.

Well worth the time and cost to learn about the Demonstrations feature of Adobe Captivate. Great to be able to work through a Focus course, watching the videos over a single weekend to become proficient in an aspect of the software without feeling overwhelmed. Thanks Rick!

Totally new to Captivate, I can see where it would be useful to demo, neat tricks with mouse movements and formatting all the text colors. Looking forward to learning more.

Yes this is a good match for me. However I couldn't find the End button in Captivate and then watching the video back again, I realised it was on the keyboard not in Captivate!

The Instructor was really good and he explained everything in detail.
He was friendly, nice, accessible and experienced.
The course too was quite good. Short and sweet and I assume here that if I practise it well, I have learnt Captivate and that is there is nothing more to learn on Captivate.
I look forward to many more such sessions and upgrade my skills and become a better professional.

Did anyone notice the screenshot during how to save a project ? on his folder view on the left there is one folder (although maybe harmless) is not really great to have in a professional environment.

very good -- fairly slow rate of delivery, which some people will appreciate and others might be a bit impatient with. On the whole, probably better to go slow.

Parts of the course are a bit slow, perhaps, and other parts (Flash?) might as well be removed altogether. The subtitles can be convenient for non-native speakers. Even though I found the accent easy to understand, the automatic captioning system seems to have a harder time (aged female instead of html, Fleisch capable instead of Flash capable, etc).
All in all, the instructor really takes you by the hand and guides you through the basics of producing a video for demonstration purposes.

There was enough information for me to develop a demo confidently The course changed my thinking about the intended audience. I learnt a lot about the different publishing and output options. Really helpful.

It seems to be informative with good tips along the way. Hoping all the info and tips come together when I use it on a real project. Not a super exciting and creative presentation but it covers the basics and I think it's a good introduction to creating a simulation.

I enjoyed this course. It is a good introduction to creating software demonstrations with clear explanations that allows the learner to actually start using and recording demos with Captivate. The pace suited me - not too fast nor not too slow.

This is yet another great Instructor Led Training Course from Rick Stone. He is one of the best for making things easy to follow along and has the greatest support for getting back with you in a timely manner and what you might think is a dumb question is not. He has an answer for you and if not he will get it for you. Thanks Rick and I would recommend anyone wanting to learn the Basics of Adobe Captivate to take his courses. I hope to see more advanced courses from Rick Stone. I gave it 5 Stars. Thanks again Rick for everything.
