2022 Learning Pimcore From Zero To Hero.

Feels like a typing course. too much time spent on writing assets, templates etc. Poor explanations of some of the pimcore functionality. Oh yeah a repo would be nice so you do not have to type everything.

Good content for beginners, but need to explain a little bit more about the code content, the explanation of the pre-defined Pimcore function is needed.

First part where everything is shown within the Pimcore Administration backend is very clear and easy to understand. But the other parts go to much into coding for my liking. The code is poorly explained and it is not clear what it does during coding. The teacher itself says in Part 3 that it is not really necessary to understand the code and that it can be simply reused in other project by copying it. So why wasting time on coding than where I as a student simply do rewrite the code I am seeing on the screen. At least code material would have been nice after every video or part.

DE: Eine kurze Einleitung in jedem Video wäre nett, um zu erfahren, was in dem Video gemacht wird. Genauso wäre es am Ende eines Videos nett nicht 1 Sekunde nach dem letzten gesprochenen Wort das Video zu beenden, da man so den in den letzten Sekunden geschrieben Code nicht mehr ansehen kann / das Video nicht mehr gut pausieren kann dafür. Außerdem wäre es super wenn ein paar Erklärungen zu den genutzten Tools / Technologien gemacht würden. Ich habe bisher noch nie mit webpack gearbeitet und hätte dann zumindest gerne einen groben Überblick, was webpack macht und warum das sinnvoll ist. EN: A short introduction in each video would be nice to know what is being done in the video. Likewise, at the end of a video, it would be nice not to end the video 1 second after the last word is spoken, because then you can no longer view the code written in the last seconds / pause the video well for this. Also, it would be great if some explanations were made about the tools / technologies used. I have never worked with webpack before and would like to have at least a rough overview of what webpack does and why it makes sense.

Fantastic course - a solid introduction to a solid CMS system, found it very useful and Ivan the presenter knows his stuff - thanks so much.

He definitely understands Pimcore. I think at some point, beginning from lesson 24, he was doing more coding than teaching. He would write large chunks of code before showing on the browser the effect. That kind of made it hard to understand what each line was responsible for. Besides this, it was a great tutorial. The instructor runs through the topics, simultaneous participation is only possible by constantly using the pause button. I had to drop out in Section 4 Testing because error messages appeared instead of the results shown in the course. Code needed for this was created 2 or 3 chapters ago. There are no materials (code) to continue at a later point with the same status as the instructor. Often the video ends with the instructor's last word and the important part at the end is only shown for a short fraction before moving on to the next video. I also find it very inappropriate in a tutorial where you should learn PimCore as a beginner to incorporate your own code constructs. Instead, the PimCore recommendations should be followed 100%. The first sections is very good, so i gave 3 instead of 2 stars. My recommendation would be to offer the code for the blog post example ready for download and just go through the settings in PimCore with the student. Of course, the changes in the code should also be shown, but one could concentrate more on the important information instead of hastily coding behind the instructor. He would then have more time to mention the important things instead of telling what he is typing all the time.
