WordPress Development For Beginners

Course is obviously derived from another, more comprehensive course. Undeniable proof lies in the conclusion when the instructor recaps the things “you have learned”. Introduction has a good structure and clearly presents what HTML & CSS are about. XAMPP installation is also easy to follow. Then, comes the meat of the course. Or should I say, minced meat. First few lessons of Module 2 are quite informative and they teach you how to set up WordPress on your localhost and then introduce you to WordPress dashboard. After that, the instructor drops you in whitewater rapids. At the beginning of Lesson 9, the instructor announces that he’ll be explaining CSS. Instead, he shows you how to log in to WordPress, again, and what pages you have created, again. Therefore, totally useless lesson. Lesson 10 is okay but the next one misses its point completely. So, Lesson 11 shows you how to make parts of your text bold, italic and centred using HTML. It also teaches you how to add a hyperlink. It’s all fine and dandy until you get to your “Practice Tasks”. Without teaching you anything about how HTML is structured, which code goes where, it asks you to set a title of the webpage. Surely, it says at the beginning that some knowledge of HTML and CSS is quote unquote “helpful, but not required”. That simply isn’t the case. You need that knowledge to complete these tasks. Adding that bonus lesson doesn’t matter because you probably won’t get anything out of it. It’s just there to show good intent. In conclusion, the lessons aren’t bad but the structure is awful. P.S. Some things are outdated but you’ll manage.

I learned so many new techniques in this course that I did not know before. This is absolutely a great course! Very well presented in a logical manner with hands-on approach. Thank you Syed for the efforts. It definitely increased my skills, Thank you.

over all course is good. but you need to updated soon , try something new thing in wordpress uploaded videos how to build theme through coading in wordpress.

it would be lovely if we could get an offline version of the video for this course. It would help those who don't have access to internet 24/7 and wants to study the course at their leisure time. Thank you so much. I really, enjoyed the course

I had no information about WordPress whatsoever before starting this course. But now I have created my own website and benefited a lot out of the course.

Die Referenten waren gut und haben ihre Themen gut rübergebracht. Allerdings hatte ich mir nach der Beschreibung des Kurses einfach etwas anderes vorgestellt.

I came to this course ready to learn, but after the second lecture it became difficult to follow. On at least two occasions early in the course, references were made to actions completed in prior lectures which never happened. Browsing the Q and A section reveals that the missing lectures are actually near the end, out of order. I will try to persevere through the rest of the course, but at this point I am not overly optimistic.

Good course for beginner to start developing website using Wordpress and some basic knowledge of web languages like HTML and CSS

The professor appears to be knowledgeable about the subject. The course introduces a wide range of ideas of HTML and CSS usages and enables each class to become an exceptional learning experience.

This course covered the basics for creating a wordpress site and was easy to follow. This class is for beginners.

If I didn't have a basic understanding of html and css I would be completely lost already. Need to relate what terms actual do using visual examples. Hope this gets better!

This is a basic course on Wordpress not on development (coding). Author should change the title of the course.
