Why take this course?

This course will introduce you to the most powerful tool for memorizing all kind of numbers: The Major System. In this course you'll learn an updated version of the system. We call it the "Visual Major System".

After some background of the system's history you will learn how to encode digits into letters.  With these letters you'll be able to transform numbers into words. You'll learn to visualize these words in front of your inner eye and to connect them to memorable stories.

These stories will help you to remember historical dates, phone numbers, the elements of the periodic table or any other numbers. You'll learn how to create your own Visual Major System list from 00-99. And as an extra: with this course you'll get our database of almost 800 images (jpg). Just pick your favorite images from our list. Get ready, start now and make memorizing numbers fun!

Sorry, I wished I could rate this higher. But I can't. The biggest issue: This is not even about the Major System! The authors created their own code. The name Major System however is specific for a given code, where for example 0=z and 5 is L. This course uses an alternative code, which is NOT the Major System, just another attempt of a phonetic mnemonic. The Major System Code is well established and changing it has massive disadvantages like that you can not refer to lists of images created by others based on the Major System. There are further issues. The authors lack understanding of the psychology of learning. This is for example visible when they suggest to use ant for 21, a word that does not begin with the letter n. They justify their choice that ant is a better image. However research has shown for most people this does not work. One star is for the basic idea to use visual mnemonics for numbers, which you should do. Another star for the high quality visuals used. Minus half a star for the extremely slow speaking speed. Impossible to watch in anything under 1.5 video speed. In summary 1.5 stars. There are other courses on mnemonics and learnings on udemy. If the authors try to dig further into this I encourage them to first watch what kind of high quality material they are competing with.
