Well to be honest this is a very very basic course where she doesn't go into any details but skips along. You will learn far more if you just go to the foundry web site and use their online recourses and videos. I could go on but I would put those in a later lesson and video.

I just finished first section. As a Nuke beginner, I am little confused after watching the last video of the section1 about difference between AE and nuke because i never used AE before. It seems like this course is designed for ppl who are transitioning from AE to nuke. But i will have to go to later sections to see if i can catch up. Overall, i like Vicki's enthusiasm and the course is enjoyable!

Again, my first time learning anything related to nuke! This is a good and complete course that covers the theoretical and the practical side of compositing. Instead of a "click this button and it just works" approach, this course talks about the why and how, and helps you understand the process instead of button-clicks. Wonderful!

In my opinion, this course is really well thought: it focuses on the theories that lay behind compositing, making you apply some of them, so that they are fixed in your mind, but still remaining general purpose. I'm pointing this out because quite often I found courses or tutorials that focus on the specific case of what they're showing, but make you feel lost when you try to apply those things in other circumstances: this happens because there are several ways to do one same thing and what's best depends on the specific case, and in this course this concept is repeated over and over. This fact it also reflected on my work: the ways I reached the results of the exercises many times were different from the teacher's ones, but the result was quite the same. Maybe this is not so surprising, but it is important to always remind that, in a well done course, like this is.

It is very cute and fun. I would like Vicky to explain a little slower and explain it in a little more detail. As a final suggestion, it would be great if the notes of shortcuts and tips are shown during the course are more visual and clean. The current annotations make the video very amateur. It is my humble opinion as a designer. :)

She teaches fast but since its node based you can pause and do tests on your own. She is very informative and detailed and is not just showing a how to do tutorial but actually going in depth in everything like levels and curves. Everything you need to know is covered. She is brilliant!

I found Vicki was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the Foundry’s Nuke, but also quite well versed in the visual effects industry. She was a delight to watch and listen to, and kept things fun and engaging. While I’ve heard that she can be a little speedy in her delivery, I find that quite refreshing compared to some of the other lectures I’ve heard of similar subjects. If you’re wondering if you should take this course, take this course. I hated node based programming, but now there’s nothing I’d rather use.

A very comprehensive and detailed coverage of Nuke. I am still a fan of After Effects and prefer using After Effects but this course exposed me to the nuances and advantages of Nuke that I have never experienced prior. I do not mind that it is a bit lengthier but at least I get much nuggets of information from it and there is no lesson or time that was wasted. Again, another teaching job well done from Vicki.
