THE BEST COURSE I HAVE TAKEN ON UDEMY SO FAR! I can't even begin to explain how much I appreciate you putting this course together Austin. I've been working on a computer science project for my A-levels for a year now (This is a school project) and was really struggling with gathering all the various bits of knowledge I needed to complete the project and then piece them all together to complete the application. Then when I had almost lost hope (1 month before my application was due for submission) I stumbled across your course on Udemy. From the title and trailer it looked like it had alot of the information I needed to know so I thought, Why not? Over the course of 3 weeks I binged the course whilst building my app every step of the way! Your course had everything I needed and some how you gave me all that knowledge and experience within 3 weeks, something my A-level teacher couldn't even do in a year!!!! Thank you so much Austin

The first thing you will noticed as expert is that the project we are trying to build is outdated and not structured. Although the principles are good for a prototype game to show some mechanics where the backend architecture is NOT your main issue to show, this course is not bad. I say not bad because as a soft. eng., the teacher is missing lots of important explanation or doesn't know some of the basics of the language fondamental ( strongly typed language) like C# for instance. Don't take this course if you want to learn C#, nor Unity, nor SQL. Its mainly at showing some stuff here and there. Also, just a small tips, don't use CoRoutines in a unity project, its the worst way of communicating with a microservice. Await/Asynch is better suited with burst compiler. You will have 1000% performance increase for hungry games.

Bro is ripped out of his mind. Crazy awesome course, especially when he shows the png picture of his bulging muscles. Not to mention how good of a teacher he is, highly recommend this course

Austin is very engaging in the course. It really goes to show his knowledge of tying unity and database together - which is the purpose of getting this course. I entirely RECOMMEND this course as he explains topics easily. I was able to pickup and learn php syntax from knowing other programming languages. And learning how to use AWS is so great, like, really Austin, thank you! I really like this course but the code structure of unity could be better. For example, instead of creating 3 functions to load a new level, create 1 and pass a string. And other examples of getting stuck and finding on my own. Lastly, I would have loved to seen this course include building a unity build for standalone or WebGL. TLDR 4/5 stars, thanks Austin :)

What a great course Austin! You are a very talented instructor who talks in a way that your lectures are easy to follow up and watch, there were times that I felt like a friend was sharing his screen over in Discord and teaching some cool stuff, so keep up the good work and specially your energy towards us! About the content now: it was extremely important and highly valued by me. I had never dealt with SQL before and loved the opportunity to study and explore it! The only scary part that i encounted you the course was Section 7, which was a little too much for me, but i still managed to create a AWS account so that's at least a start, and it is thanks to you! As a final feedback I would like to thank you once again, and suggest for the future courses that you implement some challenges and exercises that we could do to practice even more. Using what you teached me I coded the Leaderboards a little bit different than yours, specilly the server side PHP script as a challenge, and somehow it worked! It's ok. I know SQL very well, so I thought I'd do SQL over Dynamodb. This training accomplished that, but it's hard to listen to as he doesn't have a real set plan that he sticks with and makes a ton of mistakes. He should record sections where he made significant mistakes (i'm not talking about typos either). And the cloud part since this is doing PHP and mySQL it would make sense to show more generic cloud providers instead of AWS. AWS is the most expensive cloud provider. For a small dev that is overkill.

Half way through and this course is still great! Austin does take the time to reply to questions which has been helpful, and the material covered is priceless. I'm not only following along but I was able to branch out and make my own changes as I went along. Can't wait continue on!

Austin is a great teacher, and knows his craft very well, I have a few of his courses, and as a game developer, it helps game developers out alot that don't know backend related content, which most of us don't due to it being a different field, so glad he did this in the context of game development. Austin I recommend to do the same with Unreal..

Awesome course, I learnt so much about sql and php, and unity networking. May be the only course I've come across that teaches how to create these features for unity apps and Austin teaches it very precisely and to the point. I also have his NoSQL course with Unity and so far applying these skills has leveled up my Unity Dev. Thank you Austin. Truly Appreciate your work putting these courses together.

Amateur teacher who does not explain anything he says and he does not respond to questions. So we need to search on google and spend time looking for solutions. Not worth the money spent.

Amazing instructor. The course for me and it's easy to understand and follow. Recommend folks that never heard of Unity backend stuff but have some basic knowledge of Unity.

Totaly lost track in sectiopn 5. No source code would have make it a lot easier.. Just about were I signed up for, now stuck with large pieces of code and no source code for each lesson, so have to spend hours on tracking errors, I do like this course though ! So it is very helpfull but please the source code would make it so much better for each course

I'd absolutely recommend this class to any app/game developer looking to start working with cloud hosted databases!! Honestly speaking, my only regret is that I didn't get this course sooner. The whole class perfectly intertwined itself with the Unity platform, which allows game designers to gain a solid grasp about server content management. It gave me a comprehensive introduction to servers, cloud storage, AWS, PHP, MYSQL, Web Requests, data management, and a whole lot of other topics that I didn't even know I needed to learn about. These were all topics I previously had little to no knowledge about. But after the course, I had a solid foundation of understanding of all of them. Now, I'm beyond excited and confident to dive into these subjects to an even greater extent. Because some of the later subject matter can get so complex, there's occasionally moments where things get somewhat difficult to understand completely. But, this is simply apart of the process of learning new useful skills. Plus, the instructor has such a fun and informative style of teaching that he manages to make the most tedious processes a joy to learn and experience. While I learned a lot of information, I also learned enough to start building projects of my own; which is the absolute best objective any class can accomplish for its students. Overall: this is truly a 5/5 class in my opinion, my expectations were far exceeded and I finally have enough experience to start working with server databases!

Was already familiar with MySQL and PHP but this course was a great additional to show how to combine them all into using them with Unity. Love the teaching style even if he talks a bit fast, but just slow it down. It goes into a lot of depth that most other instructors never go into. Looking forward to more courses from this instructor.

So course covers basics. No security here, just how to connecto to databse using unity and php. I can recommend it to everyone who just starts, but as I said it covers only basics.
