A lot of mistakes are made on the video classes of 3d modelling. They could be avoided with a better planning of the lessons. Also, the modeling skill presented is not so professional (the final mesh is not well aligned), but OK for a beginner. But the time spent fixing things is really boring. Also, doesn't implement some kind of CharacterController in Unity to real control the animations of the ToonBug, just made a UI to play them (could at least use Trees and state transitions between the animations). Very odd to follow using Maya 2017. He speaks too slow!! I had to put on 1.5x almost all time! But worth the time if you are a beginner on searching for practice, like me!

The tutor opens slowly more and more from the Software. Thats good. He explain every step and the best; he don`t rush with pushing shortcuts who nobody can follow through the lessons. Instead he clicks on the translationtools, which is sure, much slower but the student can follow. This is great for people which haven´t worked with maya before. If there are any questions, the tutor answer immediately depending on the timezone you are living :). When you ever interested in creating and purchasing 3d models, then this course is for you.

This is the best comprehensive tutorial, especially for UV mapping and painting, that I have seen. Instructions are thorough, clear and concise. Well paced and a dream to follow. I will recommend this course to everyone. Thank you a million times.

He shows good techniques but for someone that has not modeled at all I could see them getting a little lost. So I would recommend at least a basic knowledge of modeling to prevent frustration.

the instructor is amazing. I am very passionate about art, and drawing video game concept art and eventually making it, a video game that is. I plan on putting this in my art portfolio once I get my first asset built and get away from the 9-5 job while im in school. This instructor has made this all easier and clear thank you guys so much for making things easier for me to achieve my dreams.

This is an interesting course, that teaches one to model 3-d images, first from a sketch, then a wireframe model, then texture, and finally to the point of selling it. While I personally use Blender, I've been able to use many of the techniques demonstrated in this class to my Blender work. I highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to do 3-d models, especially for games!

I started with no knowledge of Maya. I learned a lot! Alan does give you alot of time to follow and catch up . He does do mistakes, everyone does, but what I do like is that he shows how to correct it and show some ways in maya, as a bonus, to fix it! I was actually in some points ahead of him because I was learning so much! I enjoyed all of it! Very happy! :D

The content was solid and everything was very very detailed. The only reason to get lost is by not follow along on you on computer. That being said, it felt that not all things needed to be shown and some things could have been skipped. Would I take another course from this instructor? Big yes!

This course is great! Alan Balodi is a very good instructor! You will learn how to model, unwrap, create a texture for your model with Photoshop, rig and animate your character. Then you will learn how to import it to Unity, add some simple scripts and prepare it all to upload it to Unity Asset Store step by step. I did it with Maya LT 2016 and Unity 5.1 without too many problems (just remember: there are no Character Sets and no Mental Ray).

I'm a complete beginner in this field. Alan's course got me hooked. Very clear instructions, easy to follow and a good allround experience. Sometimes I was able to think a step ahead because of the way this course is set up. It's one of the best courses I have joined and I do hope that Alan will make another Maya course. I'm buying within a second if he does. Highly recommended A +++++

I enjoyed this course. It gives you all the fundamentals of modelling/rigging and animation with Maya and using the assets with Unity (Plus how to publish your creations to the Unity Asset Store). However it's best when listened to with the Udemy app on mobile devices where you can speed up the video. The best listening experience was to set the video speed to 1.8X to get engaging and easy-to-listen-to lectures.

Alan does a great job covering all the steps with just enough detail, while simplifying the vast complexity of working in 3D. I'd been playing around in 3D for years trying and the most difficult parts for me were always modeling fundamentals & tools, UV mapping & prep, and setting up bones for animation. The way Alan explains all this and takes you through each step is just what I needed. I'd highly recommend this course.
