Description

This course is designed for manufacturing or supply chain professionals who want to better understand engineering drawings. So often, engineering and design feel like an "island unto itself" where the terminology and methods feel obscure and difficult to understand.

But in this course, "Understanding Engineering Drawings", we will explain everything you need to get started reading and interpreting technical drawings including:

  • Title and information blocks

  • Interpreting orthographic projections (front, top and side)

  • Types of lines used and their significance

  • "Views" such as Detail and Section views

  • The major types of drawings and why they're important

Explanations are often extremely repetitive and simple, as if the student was mentally challenged. The course could have addressed GD&T in more depth. Also, the audio quality was terrible with a lot of noise.

This course is equivalent to learning stuff free online. Most of the section videos are snippits from other more detailed videos.

This course has opened my eyes to what is actually involved in engineering drawings and will defiantly come in handy in the future.

Excellent introductory class for engineering drawings. My only gripe is the sound quality. There was weird static throughout the videos and the voices had a muffled sound effect to them. Other than that, great content!

Yes it was because I want to explore engineering, learn to develop a skill and understanding of Engineering. I think the audio for the instructor should be a better. Its hard to hear because of the quality of the mic he was using.

His tone keeps me engaged and he's not giving too much information at once. One of the better one's I've studied under so far.

Excellent High-level Intro class. Ray and Garry have set up the foundations nicely. If you work with Engineering prints, this course is excellent, especially for the price.

It was a good overview of what I'd been exposed to. Nice to have it all in one resource. Only 4 stars due to audio quality.

The instructor's voice is enthusiastic and he seems knowledgeable. It was helpful that he added little nuance notes in to show applicability and various uses of the terms. I'm an assistant project manager and new to the field and it's really been helpful in understanding high level what will be developed and used in my company. After taking this course I feel I can ask informed questions and not look completely novice. Thanks Instructors Harkins & Pace!

This is more engaging than the introductory class. Voice isnt monotone so easier for me to listen and pay attention to .

It looks so far like it's going to teach exactly what I need to learn about engineering drawings. I work in production planning as a supply chain professional.

I really enjoyed the course and it helped me with the basics. I am confident I can look at a print and know the general idea of what I am looking at. I am a total beginner at print reading and now it makes sense to me.

I took this class as an introduction to technical drawing with the aim to progress to mechanical drafting. I know that this isn't who this class is aimed towards, but this seemed like the closest I could find on here. I feel like it gets so close to being a good introduction, but doesn't quite get there. Just looking at pdfs found around the internet, there are some things that seem to be missing or things that were not explored in enough depth and I find myself having to look for something more comprehensive elsewhere. I think this class would benefit from being more in depth, similar to an introductory course someone would take in college or university for engineering, architecture, etc. It would be useful to more people while still being useful to the current target demographic.

Well, I've done lots of blueprint reading before in the construction working field, with piping, tanks, structures etc. But it's been a while since so this is helping me to re-affirm myself with all the various terms again. thanks
