Why take this course?

Do you want to learn how to play the ukulele from scratch? Or do you already have some experience and want to take your ukulele skills to the next level?

Then this course is just right for you!

In this course, Philipp shows you everything about the instrument itself, strings, tuning, metronome, pyramid of rythm, fretting hand, strumming hand, all basic chords, barre chords, song work and during the course you will learn 14 evergreen songs to practice with your newly learned skills.

But what exactly will you learn in this course?

  1. Introduction and Welcome: To start off this course, Philipp will give you a first and detailed look into your new best friend and the main focus of this course: Your ukulele. You will learn how to hold your ukulele correctly, what the six strings are called, how to tune your ukulele correctly, how to use a metronome, how to use a drumbeat for better practice, why a rhythm pyramid is useful and of course everything about your strumming and picking hand.

  2. Basic Chords: Chords are the foundation for making music with the ukulele. After completing the course you will be able to accompany all the songs of the world. You will learn the following chords: C, Cm, D, Dm, E, Em, F, Fm, F#m, G, Gm, A, Am, B and Bm. After you have mastered these chords you will be able to practice them using the training beat from this chapter.

  3. First Song Examples: Being able to play the chords alone won't do you much good. Therefore, we have integrated very simple songs with simple chord progressions into the course. You will be able to play the following songs at the end of this chapter: Sunday Morning by Maroon 5, Count On Me by Bruno Mars, Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley und No Woman No Cry by Bob Marley.

  4. 7th and Barre chords: When you have mastered the basics of the ukulele, you will quickly reach the point where you can't go any further. The basic chords are important, but can also quickly become boring. That is why we created this section, where Philipp explains how you can add a little necessary spice into your ukulele playing. You will know the following chords after completing this chapter: C7, Cmaj7, D7, Dmaj7, Dm7, E7, Emaj7, Em7, F7, G7, Gmaj7, Gm7, A7, Amaj7, Am7, B7 and Bm7

  5. Picking Technique: Are you bored by ordinary strumming patterns and want to be able to play great melodies? In this chapter you will learn everything about the ideal picking style on the ukulele. Philipp also dives into techniques such as pull offs and hammer ons. What are you waiting for? Have a look at the first videos.

  6. Song Work: Do you feel confident with your ukulele? Then it's time to take the next step. You can either look for lead sheets on your own or you can try to write songs yourself. Philipp will give you all you need for doing song work and writing your first piece of music.

  7. 14 Songs: Philipp and I believe that only applied knowledge can really be used in the long term. So we specifically picked out songs for every technique and every type of chord so that you can practice your newly learned skills the best way possible. You will be able to play the following songs after completing this course (with a lot of spice): I'm Yours, Riptide, Losing My Religion, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Can't Help Falling In Love, All Of Me, Dream a Little Dream Of Me, Don't Worry Be Happy, Hey Soul Sister, Love Yourself

  8. Q&A: Since Philipp is often asked the same questions, we have created a chapter to answer them in video form. So if you have a question and it doesn't appear in this chapter, we'll be happy to create a video to answer your question.

This course is for anyone who wants to be picked up where they are and then elevate a few levels higher.

So what are you waiting for? Enroll in this course today and start learning how to play the ukulele!

We are looking forward to see you soon :)

Best regards,
Philipp & Marius

I took few lessons with an instructor and wanted to learn using a course and came across two udemy courses for learning ukelele. I was deciding between this course and the other course and after looking at the free sample videos for both, I decided to go with this one as I really liked the energy of the instructor and the syllabus of what was going to be taught. The course has exceeded my expectation. I am really enjoying it. My favorite part so far is Section 3 which is helping me focus and practice the chord switching and helping me build muscle memory without getting bored. Thanks for the course.

So far the instruction has been very clear and easy to follow. I like knowing the "why" behind something I'm doing or being asked to do and I find this is being provided consistently.

Yes. It is at a good pace. i love that even though the teacher is very skilled, he is patient and not condescending. Ps i am learning the guitar at the same time (crazy, huh!?) and i sometimes do the same practice with my guitar as I love the pace

Yes this is a good course for me. It meets my expections and definitely he is a good instructor. I can see he is talented and teaches from experience also. I have finally found a good ukulele instructor who demonstrates use of hands and playing the ukulele well. It is also easy to understand and follow tailored to everybodys needs. Thank you.

This course is so much fun! I've learned a lot and it's been nice to learn from a great teacher (I was just teaching myself with ukulele books). I feel like I've learned a lot in a short time!

I'd already been messing around with the ukulele, but hit a wall because I was making too many "form" mistakes. This course is great for building good form from scratch and provides detailed explanations for each step including how to hold, strum, fret, etc. The practice songs and accompanying resources are great. It helps to come in to the course with a little knowledge of music notation, i.e., bars, beats, time signatures, basic chord relationships etc.

Awesome, I learned ukulele in about two/three weeks. It's amazing to play songs or to sing with friends and family. Really kind of an eye-opener for me! Now it's just learning new songs and to keep a very steady rhythm, but that will come in time. :)

Very easy to follow, great and clear explanations and the teacher is very engaging and encouraging. I started playing ukelele at the start of the lockdowns but didn't keep it up. I am very excited to start again and I am really enjoying this course!

Everything is clear and easy to understand. Very nice selection of songs (actually you got a set of songs you can instantly use during party to impress the people :P) The order and the way he presents the content is very straightforward and logical. His English is perfect, although he is not (if I got it right) a native speaker. He is a great singer by the way, regret I am unable to sing like he. Examples he mentions are also very nice revealing his smartness and wisdom. Thanks for a great course and waiting for more to come in future :)

Yes, the instructor gives clear instructions on how to play the ukulele, and points out what is important, rhythm over changes.
