The Art of making Strong and readable drawings depends on a lots of concepts and rules of drawing. Many such concepts like ‘ perspective’ , ‘Foreshortening’ etc are taught in most classes directly as individual elements. At the end of long study, Drawing professionally boils down to not thinking about the drawing process while drawing and focusing on the feeling , acting, posing etc which is in the mind. It’s an idea and the idea isn’t the drawing, its is still a feeling that a good drawing carries while it is executed in the right way with just the right economy of lines and the right shape off lines.
This course starts by pointing to the core aspect of drawing. It’s the lines that make up the drawing.
Drawings were always about communication and instruction. And the success of a drawing depends on its readability. This course id aimed at the study of 3 types of lines which add value to the drawing. Based on an understanding of these 3 types of lines , he course progresses into fundamental ideas in the art Drawing, which tie in seamlessly into the rhetoric about lines.
Ultimately we as illustrators will always be making lines talk. Let’s understand them well.
Advanced ideas like foreshortening and Perspective in drawing become easy to understand when we are drawing actively. This course is a continuous series of drawing examples and the idea is to inspire the student to take the bold step into making more sketches and self analyse.
