Why take this course?

A command of punctuation will help you in all aspects of the English language, especially at work. Your emails should be professional and punctuation is a huge part of that. Whether writing letters or emails to customers, partners, management or creating written material for marketing and sales, preparing finance reports or even making the agenda for meetings, you will need proper punctuation. This course will help you here.

This English punctuation and writing course is taught by two world-renowned communications trainers, TJ Walker and Derek Smith

Message from Derek Smith:

My name is Derek, I’m a native Brit and qualified and experienced TEFL/TESOL trainer.

I have been teaching English to adults for over 10 years and look forward to using technology to reach a wider audience.

I have a neutral accent which is clear and easy to understand.

Downloadable PDFs for each lesson will form a valuable resource collection for you.

Where there are differences between UK and US punctuation usage, these are explained in the lesson.

We also have a free Facebook group that you are welcome to join. It gives a more sheltered environment to ask any questions you may have. This is, of course, in addition to the course Q&A section.

The course is not designed to be accessed in sequence but takes more of a pick and mix approach.

I encourage you to ask questions if you feel that something has not been fully or clearly explained. You will get an answer and, if necessary, the course material will be updated. Depending on the answer, I will add a new lesson to the course.

Here is a brief summary of the course benefits for you:

  • Native speaker

  • Experienced and qualified teacher

  • Neutral and easy to understand accent

  • Lessons structured for easy access

  • Downloadable resources for each lesson

  • Free Facebook group

Message from TJ Walker

I have been teaching executives around the globe to deliver presentations in English for the last 30 years. Most people, even native English speakers, are insecure about their English grammar. You can become an accomplished speaker and communicator and know that you are using excellent English Grammar every time you speak.

Derek is one of the top English grammar instructors in the world and I am proud to be teaching this course with him. He has the English and European sensibility down perfectly. And I have been living in and working in the United States my entire life. When you put us together, it is a powerful combination designed to help you become a master at English grammar and communication.

Good luck, and I hope to see you inside the course! Sign up today to take advantage of this limited offer.

You did it to me again TJ. Just like with your "telephone skills" course that was 3 hours of phone skills, and 40 hours of "film yourself on video", this course on punctuation was 6 hours on punctuation and 36 hours on "film yourself on video". Do you get paid by how many hours of video people watch of yours? If so, you and Udemy are doing us a disservice. If not, then why not have a 6 hour course on punctuation, then end the course???? I now have to make sure I do NOT click on any course that has TJ Walkers name because I know what it is going to be, regarding of what the "Title" of the course says. Seems like you are wasting our time, and a lot of it.

Thank you so much for sharing such massive loads of knowledge! I will surely keep getting back to this course in order to improve my language skills. And I also appreciate all the tips included in the other part, the one focused mainly on speaking and communication, although I would be extremely happy not to ever have to use them :)

Just some guy reading some bullet points so far. Here is what they wrote about the Oxfort Comma "Although it looks to be a uk/us difference, there are cases where it is used in English." I'm sorry what? that didn't need any sort of revision? This is just all fine and dandy and it's been like this for how long? Wow.

I would like a better description on what the punctuation marks mean. It was more examples and a little confusing. The speed is nice. I can understand him clearly. I also like that there is a PowerPoint to visually refer to.

Very nice and complete course in both areas: grammar and public speaking. My only remark would be on the repetition of some of the videos of the public speaking lectures. While it is good for getting the message, some are too repetitive and make it hard to follow the course. Even though, it is amazing and very well structured.

I had a course earlier of this matured, knowledgeable and respectful Instructor. A wonderful course well organised for beginners to advanced learners. If one learns this course, he/she can help the rest in the family. The course deserves a FIVE STAR. Thanks to the Instructor & Udemy.

I like the way the course is designed. The teaching is simple. Most of all the detail in which there is an explanation between the UK English and US English is done, is quite amazing. I never knew that I was mostly mixing up both these versions in the way I write. This is just the beginning of the course and I am conscious that while writing this, I might have already made that error. Great course, great content.

Excellent. But my problem is, I feel very difficulty to understand your way of talking. It's not because of your fault. It's my fault. It's ok, I can understand if I listen some videos more than two times. Thank you for adding more contents in a correct way. I am also a teacher. I liked your teaching style and lesson arrangement.
