The course itself seems good, but there's a newer one made by the same author (Awesome Tuts) for the same price with all of the material in this course + updates and more content. Makes it seem like this course is just down-right outdated and should never be bought instead of the new one, this is quite sad for everyone who purchased this course.

although this course is taught well and in great detail, I seem to have a little difficulty grasping everything so far.

First of all I would like to say that I learned a good deal from this course, and the instructor puts a lot of effort into explaining what he is doing particularly in the C# code. It should be said that while it is possible to take the course as a complete novice to C# and Unity I think that a basic knowledge of these topics would help in getting the most out of the course. This is probably less necessary for C# as there is a substantial section of the course where the basics of C# programming are explained to a level sufficient to follow the course, and a little beyond. As to Unity itself, there are some areas such as navigating around the Unity 3D interface and debugging scripts that are not directly covered in the course, although it is possible to find information elsewhere (the instructor has said that he does cover them in some of his other courses) but it would be nice to see them covered here without having to look elsewhere. The pace of the course is quite brisk and it is necessary to focus quite hard on what is going on so as to not miss anything. As the format of the course is to learn by following the instructor as he creates games in the Unity engine and a C# coding interface, interspersed with instruction and explanation about what is being written, it is necessary to frequently pause the course in order to work along with him. One effect of this is the time taken for a lecture is normally much longer that the lengths of the videos might indicate, I frequently spent 3 or 4 times longer on a lesson that the actual time for the video. I eventually evolved a process of watching the video through once to familiarise myself with the content, then playing through the lesson on an iPad, while entering the content In Unity/C# on my PC, frequently pausing the lecture to enable me to keep up and not missing steps, although even then I did miss the odd thing, which led to some head scratching and impromptu debugging. Due to the nature of the course in building four games, many of the techniques are revisited a number of times so if something is not totally clear the first time it often becomes more comprehensible the next time and I had a number of Eureka! moments when I realised how something worked within the system. It is also worth bearing in mind, though, that in Unity it is quite possible to reach the same result via different methods and the instructor does apply different techniques in this way in order to demonstrate the alternatives, so don't be too confused if you notice this. I do think that some of the lecture videos could benefit from editing and amendment as on occasion the instructor will make a mistake, which is left in the video. In fairness this may have been done on purpose to give an impression of the reality of coding and debugging and the instructor invariably corrected the mistake eventually but personally I found this more confusing than instructive. Overall though this is a good course for someone who has some initial knowledge of the system and wants to take their game construction to the next level. The instructor is enthusiastic and has obviously put a lot of effort into preparation of the games that he uses and indeed I would like to see a course where he creates a game from the early design stages to the finished article.

I have always wanted to learn game development with Unity but thought it was too hard. This course however, is fantastic. Fahir is great at explaining how to get from A-Z in Unity and the C# content is 4 hours long and thoroughly explains how to code. The projects are great and extremely fun to complete. This course is well worth it!

Good information presented in a very informative way. I've always like the Awesome Tuts videos, and this one shows how his presentation and his passing on of information has improved. Highly recommended!

The only complaint I can think of is how I hoped the instructor would use more of the highlighter option for the coding sections. Other than that, this is a great course. with an instructor who explains certain aspects of c# in an easy to grasp way with step by step look at new code he introduces. PS. If you use the bookmark function as much as possible it really helps with staying engaged and not daydreaming after long periods.

This is an excellent introductory course to Unity and games making in general.Awesome Tuts is very experienced in unity, and he is very enthusiastic about solving student problems. I learn a lot. 如果聽得懂簡單英文(高中程度搭配影片畫面就可以了),這是一個入門unity很好的課程,深入淺出的觀念,搭配遊戲學習,從做中學,如果有問題講師也會熱心解答,選了不會後悔:)

I really liked that he went back to basics and simply made a tutorial without all the joking around. As far as that's concerned I loved it. I love all of his tutorials and have been supporting him since last year. He always responds to questions and actually goes out of his way to make content that his viewers will find useful. I've purchased every tutorial he has made and was pleased with this one.
